We’ve had a few enquiries recently letting us know we’re “too expensive” and that cheaper options are available elsewhere…
And they’re absolutely right 👍
We are more expensive than your nan’s 70s-style buffet that’s been sat out since 9am and transported to site in the back of Uncle Dave’s van.
We are more expensive than supermarket platters.
And we’re definitely more expensive than someone working from a home kitchen, paid cash in hand.
But here’s the thing…
We’re a professional catering business — not a DIY buffet.
Whether it’s a meeting for 10 people or a wedding for 150+, everything we do is:
• Prepared fresh by trained staff on the day
• Stored, transported and handled safely
• Delivered and presented professionally
And for our larger events (weddings, parties, corporate functions), what you see on the day is only a small part of the job.
Behind the scenes often involves:
• 2–4 days of prep, setup and food preparation
• Transporting large volumes of equipment to and from site
• Staffing, logistics and full service delivery
• Clearing down, washing and maintaining everything afterwards
Unlike fixed venues or chains, we don’t have everything sat in one place — we move it all.
That can mean anything from full kitchen setups to handballing heavy equipment across fields, car parks or half a mile down a dirt track when access isn’t quite what was expected.
Then there’s the “boring” bits:
• £10k+ ovens
• £5k+ refrigeration
• Insurance, compliance, food safety
• Wages (yes… apparently people like to be paid 🙄)
• Fuel, packaging, maintenance
…and of course, the bank and the taxman, who are always keen for their share.
So when someone says “a loaf of bread is £1.50, why does it cost more?” — unfortunately it’s not quite that simple.
The price you pay isn’t just for ingredients — it’s for the experience, the reliability, the safety, and the team behind it making sure everything runs as it should.
For over 15 years, we’ve worked tirelessly to build a business that delivers quality and consistency, and we’re incredibly grateful to the loyal customers who continue to support us.
We know we’re not the cheapest — and we’re ok with that.
Because cutting corners has never been our thing 👍
