A morning at Rookery Hall Hotel & Spa might begin with freshly squeezed orange juice, coffee and a breakfast prepared just as you like it.
Our hot breakfasts are cooked to order, with favourites including the Rookery Hall English breakfast, featuring Cumberland sausage, locally sourced eggs and home-rolled hash brown. Or, for something lighter, there is smashed avocado on artisan sourdough with baby spinach, a poached egg and chilli oil.
Once breakfast is finished, the house has plenty of stories to share. Built in 1816 for Cheshire landowner William Hilton Cooke, Rookery Hall later became home to Baron William von Schroder, whose alterations transformed the Georgian house into something resembling a small château.
His influence can still be appreciated throughout the house, from its grand oak staircase and richly panelled rooms to its distinctive tower. In the Salon, the marble fireplace dates back to the original house, while the Drawing Room offers a comfortable spot to settle into an armchair with another coffee.
