🐾Happy International Dog Day!🐾

Of course, I couldn't possibly let today pass without introducing my own three little rescue girls -
Frida, Sofia & Matilda.❤️

Dogs are such a huge part of our family, and perhaps that's why I always love it when they find their way into my couple's wedding ceremonies too.

Over the years I've shared so many love stories where a much loved dog has played a starring role, sometimes they're part of the story of how a couple became a family in the first place, and sometimes they're right there on the wedding day itself.

I've had dogs as honoured guests, ring bearers and even very important bridal escorts. And then there are those who may not actually attend the wedding but still manage to get a mention in the ceremony...because, quite rightly, their humans couldn't imagine telling their story without them. 🐶

Because they're never ever just the dog, are they?
They're family. 🐾❤️🐾

So a very Happy International Dog Day from Frida, Sofia & Matilda - who, judging by this photograph, had just spotted something far more interesting than me! 🤣🐾

🌟 Samantha & Alex 🌟

What can I say about this couple other than they are just blooming fabulous!✨

I knew these two were going to be good fun, but honestly, they surpassed even the level of fun I was expecting - and their guests brought exactly the same energy. What a vibe! I had an absolute blast telling their story.😆

And what a story it is....
It began in 2014, when Samantha and Alex met through work, over the phone. Samantha was immediately taken in by how Alex always made her laugh, she loved that!
Alex...well his first impression of Samantha was... "who is this mouthy 'bisim' down the bus station giving me attitude every time she phone the supervisors office?" (I may have substituted one particular B-word there!)

Thankfully, that first impression didn't last. And after a little Dutch courage courtesy of a free bar at the Caley Thistle, Alex finally asked Samantha out for a drink.
That date involved the Caley Club, Johnny Foxes and Samantha introducing Alex to her favourite tipped a 'Misty Badger' (a Tequila & Absinthe shot!) Alex maintains it tastes more like something to clean drains with.🤣

And somehow....romance blossomed.❤️

What followed was a life packed with adventures at home and abroad and the addition of their beloved fur baby Maggie🐾

Then came the proposal...
ALex arranged a trip to Oban where he persuaded a suspicious Samantha to climb up to McCaigs Tower. Half way up he handed her little story book he had created about their life together. On the final page we're four very important words: 'Will you marry me?'
The answer was a massive yes💍

When they found Wildwoodz, with it's woodland setting, hay bales and wonderful relaxed atmosphere, they knew it fitted them perfectly.🌲🎊

And that was was exactly what their wedding day was... perfectly theirs.
Relaxed, hilarious, full of love and unapologetically Samantha & Alex - and surrounded by a crowd of family and friends who were absolutely up for the celebration!🎉

I laughed my way through telling this love story, their guests laughed along with me, and the atmosphere was just tremendous.🥰

What a wedding. What a crowd. And what a story to have the privilege of telling. 😍

✨Lauren & Duncan✨

Some wedding ceremonies just feel completely and utterly like the couple themselves - and this was certainly one of them.😍

These two married on Kllachy Estate, a place they've called home for years, surrounded by the people they love and so many wonderful touches they had created themselves.

And when I say created, I really mean it! Duncan made the beautiful floral arch, built the benches their guests sat on and even made a gorgeous swing, During their ceremony they planted a tree together and, afterwards, they walked through a fabulous arch of bubbles as newlyweds.🫧

Their story began back in 2015. Lauren had thought Duncan was funny, kind-hearted and had the rather exciting sounding job of 'wildlife technician' - he's a game keeper!😂 a job Lauren was fairly certain had been invented for the TV show 'Monarch of the Glen' 🤣

Over the years came countless journeys, memorable family introductions and Lauren's wonderfully subtle method of moving in with Duncan! A few clothes left behind, hair products appeared in the bathroom. Bit by bit, Lauren moved herself in🏡😆

Together they built a life filled with dogs, coffee, cosy nights by the fire, music gigs, ski trips BBQs with friends, and even Duncan's slightly impulsive decision that they needed ...a tortoise. 🐢

And then came the proposal...💍
Duncan casually pointed out a sale in the jewelry shop. Lauren spotted a ring she loved, and Duncan bought it. Duncan then proposed 'properly' on a dog walk - so them🥰

Everything about their wedding summed these two up perfectly.
Married in a place they love.
Beautiful things made by Duncan's own hands.
A tree planted together for the future.
An arch of bubbles to walk through.
And two people who, after more than a decade together, still genuinely love simply doing life side by side.❤️

Here is to Lauren & Duncan🥰

"The ceremony set the energy and tone for the rest of the day." ❤️

I don't think there could be a lovelier thing for a celebrant to hear.

Frances & Stuart's wedding was beautiful, personal and wonderfully theirs - and just look at that moment when they walked up the aisle as a married couple!

Afterwards, they sent me these incredibly kind words:

♥️"Thank you so much again for being such a wonderful celebrant for our wedding ceremony - it was perfect, everything we could've hoped for and more, and you played such a significant role in making it that way! We really feel the ceremony set the energy and tone for the rest of the day, which was just incredible." ♥️

And that last sentence really stayed with me.
Because a ceremony isn't simply the part of the day you have to get through before everything else begins...it IS part of the celebration.
It can have laughter.
It can have emotion.
It can tell your story, including the people and things that matter to you, and most importantly, it can feel like you!
That can always be seen when people leave the ceremony smiling, laughing and ready to continue the celebrating...

Well, Frances & Stuart put it rather beautifully - ❤️it sets the tone for everything that follows.❤️

Spent the morning taking a tour of Boleskine House newly renovated, now open to the public and open for wedding too!

The thought and care that's been put into this house blew me away. Marble floors, fountain courtyard, sweeping views of Loch Ness...imagine the photos!

🌟 Courtney & Ross 🌟

From shared commutes to work to saying "I do" at Logie Country House, Courtney and Ross's story has been quite the story.💖

They first met through work, bonding over car rides, laughter, and a friendship that quickly became something more. Although they tried to keep their relationship under wraps at first, their undercover date plans were swiftly uncovered by Courtney's best friend, Jemma - proving some secrets are never meant to stay secret for long!

Over the years they've built a wonderful life together, filled with adventures, family, unforgettable travels, a forever home, and even two Ragdoll cats....despite Ross once insisting he would 'never' own a cat 🐈 He's now got two💕

Then came a cosy weekend in Glencoe, a beautiful lodge, a ring, and one very nervous groom whose squeaky crocs at one point nearly gave the surprise away! Naturally there was never any doubt about Lauren's answer - she replied with a massive happy yes!💍🥰

And so, surrounded by the people they love most, Courtney and Ross became husband and wife at the beautiful Logie Country House.

A perfect day filled with laughter, love, happy tears, and the perfect beginning to their next chapter together as Mr &Mrs❤️

A question I'm often asked..."How will our ceremony feel?"

The honest answer?

It will feel Fabulous!

Long before the wedding day arrives, I will have learnt your story, all the funny memories, romantic moments, perhaps challenging moments but most importantly I will have got to know how you roll as a couple and built a ceremony that feels completely and unmistakably yours.

By the time we're standing together at the front, I'm no longer a stranger reading words from a script. I'm someone who knows you story and has the privilege of sharing it with the people who matter most.

I think these two photographs capture that feeling better than I ever could.

A ceremony filled with joy and laughter...
A couple completely relaxed...
And memories that everyone in the room will remember long after the day is over.

That, for me is what a wedding ceremony should feel like.🥰

Thinking about your own ceremony? I'd love to hear your story.😊

One road closure 🚧 One Highland Games 🐮
One very relieved Celebrant...😌

Yesterday, I travelled to Aberlour for J & A's wedding at the beautiful Dowans Hotel.

On the way, the A95 was closed following a traffic incident, meaning a division through Dufftown...on Highland Games day! Between the games traffic, tourists and all the diverted traffic, what could have been a straightforward detour became gridlock.

In 10years as a celebrant, I've never been late to a wedding before, so to say I was anxious would be an understatement! Thankfully, I was able to keep both my couple and the venue updated, and everyone was incredibly understanding.

When I arrived , Lauren and the whole team at Dowans Hotel couldn't have been more welcoming or supportive. Within minutes everyone had pulled together, the ceremony was underway, and J & A had the wonderful wedding they deserved.♥️

Yesterday was a lovely reminder that weddings aren't about everything going perfectly to plan. They are about people working together, staying calm, and making sure the couple remain at the heart of the day, no matter what!

A heartfelt thank you to Lauren and the entire team at the Dowans Hotel. Your kindness, professionalism and calm approach meant more than you'll know, and it was a real pleasure working alongside you.

A beautiful day with Georgie & Aaron at Achnagairn Castle ❤️

One of the loveliest parts of my job is hearing from couples after their wedding day and finding out just how much their ceremony meant to them and their guests.

For Georgie and Aaron, the Ring Warming and Three Things were particular highlights, creating moments of laughter, love and connection that everyone could share.

Thank you both for your kind words. It was an absolute pleasure getting to know you and tell your story as you became Husband and wife. ❤️
