We had a brilliant day last weekend at Hexham Abbey, taking over the café downstairs and keeping things flowing with a spread of sweet and savoury bites 🍰🥪

While the team served up fresh treats, our head chef Dan was upstairs in the kitchen cooking up a storm—Sunday lunches done the 19.01 way. Great food, a stunning setting, and an atmosphere to match! 🍽️

“We chose 1901 Catering on the back of a warm recommendation from friends, who had engaged their services for a wedding. Our event was a Summer solstice birthday party, held (optimistically) in the open air, with little more cover than an open-sided awning. Justine and chef Dan intuitively understood the feel of the event we wanted to host, and from our initial contact to delivery on the day, showed a reassuring amount of ‘can-do’ spirit. They worked very well, both with us and the facilities available on site. Our guests left well-fed and much appreciated not only the food (don’t skimp on the excellent canapés) but also the service, delivered with a smile and real Northern charm. The sun shone and we are glad to have used 1901, as now warmly recommended by us to you”
