Yorkshire Day 2025 – Morley Town Centre

What happens when you bring a town together for a day of celebration, pride, and community?

Yorkshire Day 2025.

Delivered in partnership with Morley Town Council, this event was all about one thing — bringing people back into the heart of the town centre.

From families and traders to performers and local businesses, the goal was simple:
👉 Create a space where people want to be.

Behind the scenes

This wasn’t just an event on a stage.

It involved:
• Full town centre planning & coordination
• Live entertainment & family programming
• Traders, suppliers & community partners
• Marketing, PR & local engagement
• On-the-day delivery & operations management

The result?

A town centre filled with life, energy, and people enjoying their local community.

• Strong local attendance throughout the day
• Busy town centre footfall
• Independent traders trading well on the day
• A real sense of community pride in Morley

But for me, it’s bigger than that…

Events like Yorkshire Day matter because they show what’s possible when towns invest in experience — not just infrastructure.

It’s about:

Twisted Events Yorkshire is a place-making and events practice focused on designing and delivering meaningful civic, cultural and community-led experiences across Yorkshire.

Led by Stephanie James, we work across towns, councils, organisations and creative partners to transform spaces into destinations through thoughtful event design, strong storytelling, and audience-focused delivery.

Our work sits at the intersection of:
• community engagement
• cultural programming
• town centre activation
• and strategic event delivery

We don’t simply deliver events — we help shape how places feel, how people connect, and how spaces are used to support both community identity and local economic activity.

Recent projects include civic town centre programming, seasonal celebrations, and large-scale public events such as the Morley Christmas Light Switch-On, alongside markets and community activations across West Yorkshire.

We are currently open to conversations with councils, BIDs, venues and organisations looking to develop place-based events that are purposeful, well-executed, and rooted in community impact.

A special mention to 14 year old Maya Dolby, who captured the day beautifully through photography, as part of her GCSE work under the guidance of Lisa Cuthbert at TwoSevenEight Photography- showcasing some incredible young local talent!

We are now looking ahead and exploring how we can return at the end of the summer.
