A flashback in time…

Engineered Foam Products, who are based just over the road from us here at Gallows Park, have recently closed their Cornwall factory.

We were kindly handed these pictures from the office archives. The pictures show the original Poron Factory (before they became Engineered Foam Products) right here where we and many other local businesses are now located.

As a child, my Mum & Dad would bring me and my friends here to buy polystyrene surfboards where we would spend hours at Portwrinkle attempting to surf. Does anyone else remember doing this?

Thanks to your sticker purchases over the past few months, we have just donated another £200 to The Rame Centre, which will go towards a new screen - making the space more adaptable for our community.

The next batch of funds will be supporting St Nicolas C of E Primary School. The students have even designed some amazing stickers which are now available at our shop.

Many people often ask how, and why we named our business the CornishPod.

10 years ago today, myself and Gabriella took a road trip to beautiful Tenby in Wales, we returned to Cornwall having purchased our beautiful black CaterPod, we were all excited for it to arrive in Cornwall.

A few days later it was transported on a huge car transporter to Torpoint.

That evening we sat around the table and decided on our brand name, because it was a beautiful shiny black, the colour of the Cornish flag and was a Pod, the CornishPod was born.

10 years ago, there was never a plan to make pasties, a strange set of events led us to ten years later operating the business that we have.

Thanks to every member of staff that has been involved, and as always, each and everyone that has supported us.

It’s been a great journey, here’s to the next 10

It’s Black Prince Flower Boat Festival Day Tomorrow! 🥳

We’ll be up at Pod HQ early doors to start dealing with wholesale orders and make a variety of baked goods (pasties, pies, sausage rolls, turnovers etc.) along with a range of cakes and sweet treats for our stand at Venton House in Millbrook.

Our shop at Gallows Park will likely shut earlier (around midday) as we head down into the village.

We will have plenty of pasties in Kingsand at our various stockists if you are unable to make it to our shop in time. You can also find a selection of pasties at our stall too if you’re quick - once they’re gone, they’re gone!

Hopefully see you tomorrow and have a great day enjoying the celebrations.

Happy 8th Birthday to us and a picture of our first born pasty, the crimping has improved significantly over that time, as I have been politely moved to other tasks…

Thank you for your support over those years, we feel very valued in the community, and have formed a great ‘Pod Family’ up the hill.
