A fantastic week of cutting for florists and DIY event buckets, finishing off nicely with a bit of therapeutic wreath making.

This customer commissioned a summery themed wreath for their sheltered porch. Using fresh foliage of bay, eucalyptus and ferns which will dry beautifully, and a mix of fresh and dried flowers, grasses and seed heads, the wreath will age naturally over the summer and look better and better.

We are proud to be a member of Flowers From The Farm and looking forward to celebrating British Flowers Week 15th - 21st June 💐

With members from Cornwall to Inverness, Flowers from the Farm supports the UK agroecological cut flower sector through the education and empowerment of flower growers and their customers.

A thriving membership organisation and a growing movement, Flowers from the Farm champions British flowers, supporting biodiversity, local economies and a more sustainable future for floristry and flower farming.

Whether you’re discovering British flowers for the first time, searching for a local grower, wanting to use more British flowers in your floristry work, considering growing flowers yourself, or looking to join a supportive nationwide network, there’s a place for you here.

As a Flowers from the Farm member, you gain access to workshops, events, mentorship, knowledge-sharing and industry advocacy, while connecting with growers, florists and flower lovers across the UK.

You can support the movement by:
• Buying from local growers
• Asking florists for British-grown flowers
• Sharing the value of seasonal flowers
• Starting your own growing journey
• Or becoming a member

Together we can help British flowers flourish.

A couple of bouquets stuffed full of our early June’s finest, because photos of all the wind damaged flower crops and w**ds taking over the flower farm (I’m looking at you couch grass, bind w**d and thistles!) is much too depressing!

A little photo dump of last week. It’s been pretty stressful with the dramatic weather fluctuations, so this will be a reminder as things start to ramp up over the coming weeks, that flowers still bloomed despite the challenges and there will continue to be flowers!

1. Bumblebee loving the flowers at Shepton Mallet Sunday Market
2. Cornflowers exploding during the heatwave
3. Foxgloves galore
4. Ammi Majus reaching for the sky
5. A brights gift bouquet collected from the flower farm
6. DIY event flower buckets
7. Happy bees on the flower field

All about the gorgeous and dramatic spikes right now on the flower field. Paired with some May froth and flouncy peonies or roses, they make the best combination for a May wedding!

Lots of harvesting foxgloves and verbascum this week. The polytunnel snaps are showing some colour and there is lots of lovely larkspur on its way. It’s always an exciting time of year!

Flower farm bunches now available Monday - Saturday at Zen Rebel Studios in Midsomer Norton. Modelled here by the lovely Lola!

Our seasonal bunches of farm fresh flowers are a sample of the week’s best from the flower field, containing a mix of seasonal flowers, herbs and foliages, which will vary from week to week.

These are the nearest you’ll get to ‘Supermarket flowers’ from Mendip Flower Company. The difference is, all of our flowers are grown, picked and wrapped here on the flower farm, less than 2 miles away from Midsomer Norton high street, meaning zero air miles! They are free from nasty chemicals and pesticides, with no single use plastic used in the growing process or in the packaging.

So why not pop on down, join in with one of their classes, grab a coffee, some gluten free goodness and of course some locally grown flowers!
