Your wedding shoes should have two settings: aisle and absolutely feral.

Olivia & Charlie understood the assignment. A packed dance floor, a sax player in the thick of it, sunglasses indoors and the bride airborne. A masterclass in throwing a bloody brilliant wedding party.

Wedding photography coverage can finish around 30 minutes after the first dance… but this lot were only just warming up.

This is why I love staying until the end. Give me time to become part of the party and people stop noticing the camera. The moves get bigger, the singalongs get louder, and some of my favourite photographs of the whole day happen.

This is how dinner in Italy is supposed to end… 🇮🇹

Beautiful tables. Candlelight. Flowers everywhere. Plates of pasta arriving from the kitchen.

And then, somewhere between dinner and dessert, everyone forgets they were ever supposed to stay seated.

This was the wedding breakfast at Villa Cini in Tuscany, one of those evenings that started beautifully and elegantly, and gradually became louder, looser and a lot more fun.

Dinner flowed into music.
Music turned into dancing.
Napkins went into the air.
And eventually, nobody really cared where their seat was anymore.

For me, this is such a huge part of photographing a destination wedding.

Of course I want the beautifully styled tables and all those details you’ve spent months choosing. But I also want what happens to the room once you fill it with all of your favourite people.

The movement. The laughter. The slightly imperfect frames. The people who completely forget I’m there.

Because your wedding gallery shouldn’t just show what everything looked like.

It should remind you exactly what it felt like to be there.
And an Italian wedding dinner turning into a party?

Very difficult to beat.

The wedding’s over. Nobody’s quite ready to leave.

Two weddings in Italy, two very different ways to keep the celebrations going. Pizza and a pool party at one; a barbecue, cold beers and a long, leisurely dinner at the other.

Different settings, the same lovely feeling: your favourite people still together, with time to settle in, swap stories and enjoy another evening.

I love photographing this part of a wedding weekend. The pace slows, everyone relaxes, and there’s room for the little moments between everything planned.

If you’re planning a wedding in Italy, this is your gentle encouragement to leave a little time for the day after.

A London wedding that felt entirely like them.

Chloe and Jack married at Old Marylebone Town Hall with a small circle of their favourite people.
Afterwards, we took a little time to wander through Marylebone’s streets before joining everyone at The Italian Greyhound for dinner.

There was beautiful late-summer light, a red London bus, and so many of those small, affectionate moments between them that say more than a posed photograph ever could.

If you’re planning a Marylebone Town Hall wedding, this is your reminder that a smaller day can still hold a whole story.

This is what getting married in Tuscany can look like.

Not a photoshoot disguised as a wedding day. Not hours disappearing for photographs.

Just the people you love, gathered beneath the trees, an incredible view across the Tuscan countryside, an outrageous amount of colour and two people very much in the middle of it all.

This ceremony was one of my favourite parts of my time photographing weddings in Italy this September.

There was so much here that was visually beautiful, the old Italian architecture, olive greens, that landscape and the incredible florals but it was the little moments happening amongst it all that I kept finding myself drawn towards.

A hug with Dad before the ceremony.

The anticipation of walking down the aisle.

The looks between them during the vows.

And then that exit.

For me, destination wedding photography shouldn’t be about turning your wedding into a fashion shoot simply because you’ve chosen an extraordinary place to get married.

The location deserves to be part of the photographs, absolutely.

But the people should always be the reason for them.

Consider this your sign not to rush straight into the wedding day…

There’s something pretty special about the night before a wedding in Italy.

No timelines. No ceremony nerves just yet. Just good food, a glass of w**e, the people you love and, if Tuscany decides to show off, light like this.

Pre-wedding dinners have quickly become one of my favourite parts of destination weddings to photograph. Everyone is relaxed, the anticipation is building, and it gives you a completely different collection of photographs before the wedding has even begun.

And when the evening ends with the Tuscan sun dropping behind the cypress trees… well, it would be rude not to steal you away for five minutes.

If you’re planning a destination wedding, don’t feel like the photography has to start on the wedding morning. Sometimes the night before tells just as much of the story.

Wedding mornings have a rhythm entirely of their own.

At Villa Cini, tucked into the Tuscan countryside, preparations unfolded across old rooms, open windows and sun-warmed stone, the girls getting ready together upstairs, the groom surrounded by the people closest to him, and those little moments happening in between that nobody really plans for.

Shoes waiting by the window.
A room slowly becoming a little more chaotic as the ceremony gets closer.

It’s one of my favourite parts of photographing a wedding day because very little needs to be created. I can simply watch it unfold.

And somewhere amongst all of that anticipation, there’s that wonderful realisation: we’re actually getting married today.
The beginning of a beautiful few days photographing a wedding in the heart of Tuscany.

In a world where almost every moment is captured on a mobile phone, there is still something quietly beautiful about photographing a wedding on film.

There is no instant preview. No endless sequence of almost-identical frames. Just light, instinct and a single moment preserved exactly as it felt.

The grain, the unexpected flash, the softness and the beautifully imperfect colours give these photographs a nostalgia that digital can imitate, but never quite replicate.

They already feel as though they have been taken from an old family album, photographs that will be rediscovered in years to come and still carry the atmosphere of the day within them.

Digital photography allows me to tell the complete story. Film adds something different: a small collection of tangible, imperfect and deeply nostalgic memories.

And perhaps that is why film feels more meaningful than ever.

Conor & Melissa, a destination wedding from around the globe.

Having met in America, travelled so much, lived in Europe finally after 10 or so years they were able to marry in Italy.

Surrounded by their very close caring family and their daughter playing the most important little flower girl the day was absolutely perfect without a cloud in the sky.

It was such a beautiful wedding to capture and an honour to be booked to work it.
