It all began with a ‘P’

No not ‘P’ for party but a ‘Pea” on my pregnancy app!! 2018 my life turned upside down, as it does for all new parents, with the birth of my son. He came 6 weeks early with a bang, obviously impatient to get out and has been equally impatient about trying new things ever since!

Fast forward to his first birthday and we decided to throw him a party for family & friends, about 80 people! Now, I have always loved planning these sort of things and take great pleasure in choosing themes, sourcing products and seeing how it all comes together at the party and everyone having a great time! But this year was different, this year not only was I doing my usual corporate full time job I was a mum! And boy, we don't have a spare hand let alone a spare minute to be arranging parties and to top it off, it was a GRUFFALO THEMED PARTY. Who knew that there wasn’t much Gruffalo themed party pieces out there?!

So I set to it, using every minute I could grab trawling the net for things to make his party fab! I must have spent hours in total trying to shop online and in stores to find the right pieces. Then you have to remember what you’ve ordered, where you’ve ordered from, when it’s due to arrive on top of creating Facebook invites, arranging soft play hire, face painter, food oh and keep changing those dirty nappies in between! I won’t tell you how late I went to bed the night before his party but lets just say, the dog naps longer!!!

Even if I do say so myself, the party really was good! It all came together in the end and family and friends still talk about it! Obviously my son is too young to remember it but we’ve got some great photos to show him when he’s older and stories to share.
