My article “Belonging Matters: Why Children Need to Feel Seen More Than Ever” has been published in the Autumn issue of Scotland4Kids.

It's about something I've been thinking and talking about for a long time:

Children need to know that they matter.
They need to know who their people are.
And they need to know that they belong.

I explore some of the ways we can make that sense of belonging visible — through the people around children, the words we use and the moments we choose to mark.

It's something I'm particularly passionate about because, for me, ceremony isn't about putting on a performance.

It's about stopping for a moment and saying:

You matter.
You are loved.
You belong.
