🧡WHAT’S INVOLVED IN A STATUTORY WEDDING CEREMONY 🧡// well, today I was on the other side of things and I got to be a witness at a statutory wedding ceremony. It was really lovely to see somebody different do the job that I used to do.

In registration, every district operates slightly differently, so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. For my own amusement, I timed the ceremony and from sitting down it was four minutes long. The lovely couple really did just want a functional contraction of their marriage and they were ideal candidates for a statutory wedding ceremony.

I know sometimes these 2+2 wedding ceremonies are quite difficult to secure. My only advice is to book them as far in advance as possible and if details for them, don’t appear on the register office website, it’s worth giving them a ring.

The registrars were absolutely lovely today and the couple skipped off delighted! Now they can celebrate in exactly the manner they wish, without having to worry about the legalities.

🚗🌳ROAD TRIP TIME🌳🚗 /: this time I’m off to the beautiful Southdowns for tomorrow’s wedding ceremony. It always gives me a real thrill to visit a new venue. I had a little sneak peek today, just as the sunshine came out, and I’m not only will the ceremony be ‘so them’ but I’m absolutely certain the wedding guests are in for one heck of a party! 🎉

🌳THE PERFECT PLACE FOR YOUR LEGAL CEREMONY? 🌳// obviously I am a strong advocate for being able to choose where and when you should enter into marriage. Hopefully, in the not too distant future, independent Wedding Celebrants will be able to conduct legal marriages in England and Wales. In the meantime, if you have a Celebrant-led wedding ceremony, you will need to compliment that with undergoing a short and sweet legal marriage at a register office.

I am so fortunate that the area I live in has a register office with this beautiful backdrop. The office itself may be a functional local government building, but the outside has this hidden gem of a beautiful avenue of trees. Absolutely perfect for intimate wedding photographs.

Registrars and Celebrant undertake very different roles. As Celebrant we often see registrars as competition, but they are vital to the role that we currently undertake. The world of weddings will change dramatically in the next few years. In the meantime, we should all make the best of the current situation.

🧡BOGGED DOWN IN WEDDING PLANNING DECISIONS? 🧡 // okay…now I may get a tiny bit bias BUT I think using a Wedding Celebrant is going to be one of the easiest decisions you make when planning your wedding day. 💕AN INCLUSIVE AND ROMANTIC SPECIAL TOUCH FOR YOUR WEDDING CEREMONY 💕 //

This is such a simple, but effective, way to allow non-English speaking guests feel part of your wedding ceremony. 💕

I created a printed ceremonial script copy in the bride’s mum’s home language, so she could follow along and feel truly part of the moment. Being able to participate in every beat of the wedding ceremony made the day even more magical for her, and for the bride, who knew her mum was following the heartfelt vows shared by her and her new husband. 💕

🚘CELEBRANT ON TOUR 🚂 // I frequently get asked if I’ll travel to deliver a wedding ceremony. Hell yeh!

One of the best bits of my job - and believe me there’s many - is that I get to visit lots of new places and lots of new wedding venues.

Tonight I’m stretched out on Premier Inn bed, eating a white Twix and contemplating a facepack!
