How you feel about yourself is often half the battle when it comes to how you think you look in photos.
So many people say to me before a shoot:
“I hate having my photo taken.”
“I never like pictures of myself.”
“I’m not photogenic.”
But so often, it’s not the camera at all. It’s the way we’ve learnt to speak to ourselves.
The habit of noticing flaws before strengths.
The self-criticism.
The pressure to look “perfect.”
And if you go into a photoshoot already believing you won’t like what you see…that feeling often follows you into the final images.
Which is why mindset matters so much!
As Roald Dahl said:
“If you have good thoughts, they will shine out of your face like sunbeams.”
I truly believe that.
When you feel relaxed, confident and kinder to yourself…it shows.
Your eyes soften.
Your smile becomes real.
Your whole energy changes.
So this is your reminder today:
Talk to yourself like you would your best friend;
Be gentle.
Be brave.
Celebrate your individuality.
Because the most beautiful thing about you has never been perfection, it’s you.
And when you start believing that, the change you see in yourself can be incredible!
