Kickstarting Filipino food heritage month!

I am SO excited to share this event happening next month at Mama Z's with you all! Introducing Postcards from The Philippines, a 4 course supper where I'll be showcasing some dishes inspired by my recent trip back to the motherland. It's been absolutely ages since I've done a supperclub so I'm excited for this event ❤️‍🔥

I've been working away at the menu behind the scenes and after a few test runs, I will finally share what you'll be eating v soon with you all!

The price of the ticket includes a welcome drink, alongside your 4 course taster menu. It's been SO hard to narrow down what dishes to do but if this goes well then maybe I'll do another date?...hehe 🌝

Vegan options will be available, please just state when you are buying your ticket. Please msg if you are unsure re allergies, I will try my best to accommodate where I can.

PLEASE HELP 🙏

We are the Filipino food UK group, a collective of Filipino chefs, makers and business owners across the UK. We are raising money to help give aid to rebuild the communities who have lost everything

The Philippines is no stranger to natural disasters and with global warming on the rise, the typhoons are not only becoming more frequent in The Philippines, but they are unfortunately getting stronger and more destructive each time

Every donation enters you into our raffle where you are in with the chance to win some amazing prizes, kindly donated by some of us from The Filipino UK group but also from local businesses around us. You can see what's up for grabs over on the post below.

All the money raised will be sent to For the Future PH.
For the future PH is a community lead youth group that distributes the necessary aid for climate affected communities.

Their current fundraising has reached Cebu, Palawan, Negros Occidental and Southern Leyte.

On their page they also have a transparency tracker where they upload and update where in the country the donations reach and how your money has helped the communities.

Our reasons for choosing For the future PH is because their donations are helping lots of areas and communities that have been affected. Their transparency on where their funding is going and allocated is also important to know where this money will go. Full transparency is key.

These will be the dessert items you'll be able to enjoy next weekend before we close for two weeks for our summer break 🌞

Remember last day for UBE DONUT PRE ORDERS is this Friday.

There will be donuts next weekend for you to buy but we recommend you come early to avoid disappointment as it's limited stocks! 💜🇵🇭🌞

Hello!

Just a little post about our upcoming Ube day happening next weekend! After the success of our first Ube day earlier in the year, we are doing another one to round off our 3rd bday and wave good bye to August!

We will be having Ube donuts by Dghnut (based in Mackie Mayor), lots of Ube Cakes, cookies and a whole range of other Ube and Filipino desserts! 💜🇵🇭

We are currently taking pre orders for our Ube donuts and the last day to do your pre orders is this Friday!
Or if you arrive early next weekend, we will have some donuts on sale but we are doing pre orders as people missed out last time!

What is Ube? 💜
Ube is a purple yam indigenous to The Philippines! It's grown in popularity globally but we are proud to serve Ube as a Filipino business as it's always been a big part of our heritage and not just a trend!

Donuts are not vegan but we will have a range of vegan desserts available on the day too.

Come say hello and get involved with our Ube weekend Aug 30+31! We do take bookings via Resos & all our info is available on our Instagram including the link for our pre orders etc.

After the success of our first Ube day earlier this year we are putting another weekend of it at the end of August ✨

It's also 3 years since we opened YL so this is our little celebration to tie it in 🤗🫶

The amount we are seeing Ube being used everywhere is just a madness ATM so this is a fun way to share and also highlight the origins of Ube from the Philippines as a crop native to our heritage.

Ube is more than just a trend- it's part of our Filipino identity 🇵🇭✨💜

We will also be doing pre orders on donuts this time round too from and putting MORE items on as we sold out of stuff pretty quickly last time. More info to follow soon but just get this date in your diaries!!

Tomorrow is our UBE DAY celebration at Yes Lah!

From 11am you can get a bunch of Ube desserts alongside our menu. We will probably have some items leftover till Sunday too but we predict our Collab items like our Ube donuts from Dgnut (based in Mackie mayor) and our Pandan cookies by Little Wongs Bakes based in LDN will sell out quick and are limited in supplies.

We have stocked the shelves full of Ube retail items, lots of cakes, ice creams and more for the day!

We also have a raffle for you!
If you wear anything purple that gets you an automatic entry to our raffle.
Any purchases made this weekend will also get you an entry to our raffle for you to win some mega things!
