Join us for the SCENE 2026 Closing Party and dance out the final night of the festival with the filmmakers, crew and audiences who made this year's SCENE so special.

Expect a DJ, dancefloor, cocktails and one last chance to celebrate together before the curtain falls on another unforgettable festival.

Presented in partnership with Campfield, a campus for the tech, media and creative industries housed in Manchester's historic market halls on Liverpool Road.

🌈🎬 DAY 4 AT SCENE FESTIVAL! 🎬🌈

Another huge day of films, conversations and very special guests...

💗 , the creator behind the Heartstopper universe, joined to talk about the legacy of a series that has meant so much to so many. It was everything we'd dreamed of. 🥹

📺 We heard from , , , , and .curtis, who joined to discuss the programme, the real stories behind the characters, the show's legacy and how the series will be retold for the stage. 🎭

🌈 We celebrated one of cinema's most enduring icons, Dorothy, with the UK premiere of at . 👠✨

📺 We celebrated the wonderful Caroline Aherne, with clips from throughout her incredible career, a screening of The Royle Family Christmas Special (Series 2), with thanks to the BFI National TV Archive, and a gorgeous panel with writer David Scott (), John Henshaw and Carmel Morgan. ❤️

🐺 Over at , we heard from , Director of , who joined us for a post-screening Q&A for WOLF, moderated by . 🎤

Writer/producer Thomas Sargeant ( / ) and DoP/producer Paul Mortlock () met at SCENE 2025 - and ''Between Breath & Silence' was born from that meeting.

Now, a year on, it's been selected as SCENE's nominee for the Best British 2026 programme!

Huge congratulations also to director Nicole Pott () and producer Sam Retford ().

Set across one day, the film follows Tom as he sits with his dying father, confronting the love, guilt and unspoken truths that have shaped their relationship. Inspired by a true story.

It'll now screen with all 15 shortlisted films at the in Cardiff in October, and stream UK-wide on for a year after.
