It is with a very heavy heart that I am writing this post, and is something I would never have imagined myself doing.
However, on Saturday morning (25/07/20), our joint owner and co-founder James Kimberley (Kimbo), tragically took his own life. As many of you may know, James had recently opened up about his ongoing mental health battles and has campaigned tirelessly to encourage people to speak out about their own. The fact that someone so understanding of the issues they were facing had still felt so alone in the world is truly heartbreaking. Anyone that had ever met James would be able to understand how brilliant he was. It was an honour to have had a friend with such amazing drive, good humour, intelligence and kindness.
I am only publicising this as i feel there are many important lessons that need to be taken from this. As James said less than a week ago: “don’t be an absent friend”, check up on your mates and start conversations. Mental health has never been spoken about enough and it could only take one conversation to save a life. It is time to change.
I know how passionately James felt about mental health issues and i have therefore attached one of his last posts to raise awareness for anyone that might be suffering. James took great pride in helping others with their problems and i hope the legacy he has now left behind can go on to help more.
Although your time on this earth was short, the memory of you, everything you achieved, and everything you dreamed of will live on forever.
We will never forget you James, you have brought so much happiness to so many people and will be missed more than you would have ever known. ❤️
