Top tips from ; a bride who went bespoke

1. TRY ON
‘Try on a variety of styles as you would when visiting a boutique. Don’t feel guilty about shopping for ideas; it’s really important to know what suits you and what you like. Pinterest will be your best friend but I had no idea what really suited me until I tried on a wide variety of styles.’

2. SHOP AROUND
‘Speak to a few dressmakers before deciding on the one. They all have their own style and you really want to feel like they get you. If you’re unsure of exactly what you want then a great dressmaker will help you to realise what you can’t explain.’

3. DO YOUR RESEARCH
‘I knew I wanted a silk linen blend and wanted to buy the fabric myself to keep control of the costs. I scoured every fabric shop in London to no avail before I eventually found a shop in Bristol that sold online. It turns out most fabric merchants will send you samples or let you take cuts so that you can make sure it’s perfect before you buy.’
