Carla trained at Teacher Training College NLDA (North Liverpool Dance Academy) where she received her teaching qualifications with the ISTD in Imperial Classical Ballet, Modern Theatre, National and Tap Dance as well as another Ballet teaching qualification with IDTA. After graduating college, Carla went onto further her ISTD qualifications gaining her Licentiate status in Modern Theatre and Tap Dance and has further achieved her qualifications with Acrobatic Arts, Alixa Flexibility and Progressing Ballet Technique. Carla likes learning and continuing her qualifications and is currently studying for her further ISTD Licentiate and Fellowship exams.
In 2024, Carla was voted to become a Committee member for the ISTD as a part of their Tap Dance Faculty which is her best achievement being 1/7 people to represent ISTD Tap Dance around the globe!
She has a strong passion for choreography and has successfully reached the finals of the Barbara Sharples Choreographic Awards 4 times in a row and wins choreography awards at competitions.
She also loves adjudicating and has adjudicated around the North West for multiple festivals and set sequence events. She loves watching dancers perform everything they have learnt and give 100% in something they love which is so rewarding to see.
