Happy 1st Birthday Beats Underground!! 🎉

I'm taking a break from the radio for a while to spend some time in studio.

Cyprus was a movie!! 💚

2 weeks of beautiful beaches, gorgeous food & lots of sunshine.

Gutted to be back in the UK but I'm feeling refreshed and ready to hit the studio again (and the gym to work off all the food 💪)

It wouldn't be a holiday without a bit of over indulgence, right?? 👀

Three Tips For Beginner DJs.....👀

👉Train Your Ears

This one is so important.

In a digital world it's tempting to hit sync.

And although this could be a quicker route from bedroom to club DJ it's not going to train your ears..

Cover the screen & BPM counters on your decks/controller and count the beats.

👉Know Your Music

Learn to mix with your favourite tracks.

You've heard them so many times before....

So you already know where the bassline comes in,

where the breakdown is

And where the drop hits.

👉 Find Your Tribe

Learning to DJ can be daunting but you're not alone.

Reach out to your local DJ community

Open decks nights are a great way to connect with local DJs & build your confidence.

If you're just starting out as a DJ i hope this helps you...

The .yourhousemusic DJ Hangout at yesterday was so much fun!

has done an amazing job of bringing the Manchester DJ community together.
