Wedding Day Photos has been providing beautiful photographs to happy couples for many years. Set up by Geoffrey Stemp BIPP over 30 years ago, the business developed a strong reputation for quality wedding, commercial, Public Relations and architectural photography. Working alongside Geoffrey from being old enough to carry a camera case was his son, Ed Stemp, who developed his own passion for great

photography. He established High Contrast in 2008 focusing on the fashion, advertising and corporate photography, working with brands such as Triumph International, Republic, The Postcode Lottery, Castrol, Kawasaki and Del Monte to name a few. High Contrast has been featured in '10 of the Best' by Manchester Fashion Network Out of all the entries and nominated companies, our panel of industry judges including John Lewis, Mail on Sunday, Drapers, and my-wardrobe chose you as one of the best in the North. Following Geoffrey's retirement in 2009, Ed now runs Wedding Day Photos with his wife Louise and has offices in Manchester City Centre, serving Manchester, Cheshire and Lancashire areas, however will happily travel throughout the UK and overseas! I’m thrilled to be sharing some highlights from Mary & Liam’s beautiful wedding — congratulations to you both!

Their ceremony took place in a magical woodland setting at Hackness Grange, a stunning venue just outside Scarborough. The weather certainly kept us on our toes, with stormy skies and winds forecast to hit 55mph! But Mary and Liam embraced the adventure and caught a perfect break between showers, allowing us to capture their intimate outdoor ceremony and some gorgeous couple portraits in the woodland.

The whole day had such an upbeat energy — full of love, laughter and brilliant moments with family and friends. The celebrations ended with an absolute rave of a party thanks to DJ Mark Green, who definitely knew how to keep the dance floor bouncing!

If you didn’t cry at Megan & Joe’s wedding, you were in the minority! ❤️😭

The energy carried straight into the wedding breakfast with a high-spirited entrance that set the tone for the evening. Then came the speeches — quite possibly the most emotional I’ve ever witnessed. Tears flowed from every corner of the room, not from sadness, but from the sheer depth of love, friendship, and connection that everyone felt for this incredible couple.

From silly moments with their closest friends, to a golden-hour stroll through the Buxted Park grounds (complete with a surprise rainbow 🌈), the day kept serving up magic. There was fierce competition for the bouquet (seriously, those bridesmaids could give rugby players a run for their money 🏉💐), and more tears as Megan & Joe shared their first dance before the party really took off in legendary style.

We wrapped the night with a beautifully calm, romantic moment for just the two of them — the perfect pause to cool down after such an unforgettable celebration.

What stood out most wasn’t just the laughter, the tears, or the rainbow, but the strength of the team that surrounds Megan & Joe. With that kind of love and support, these two are truly unstoppable.

What makes a wedding perfect? Not the absence of hiccups, but the way love carries you through them ❤️

Some weddings feel like a gentle stroll. Others — like Megan & Joe’s beautiful celebration at Buxted Park — feel more like a rollercoaster 🎢

The morning began with nerves and a few unexpected bumps in the track. Megan’s bridesmaids stepped in with all the love and encouragement she needed, and it was those moments of support that made the rest of the ride all the more meaningful. Then came the quiet pause before the plunge — her dad seeing her in the dress for the first time, followed by the emotional reveal to her bridesmaids. Both moments that reminded everyone what weddings are truly about: love, family, and connection.

From there, the day swept everyone along — their heartfelt vows, written by hand, the rush of confetti surrounded by friends and family, and the sheer joy of a bridal party that was as elegant as it was fun. Add to that the timeless beauty of Buxted Park and its Sussex countryside setting, and the result was a day that felt cinematic, joyful, and unforgettable.

Like any great rollercoaster, it was full of highs, a few lows, and plenty of laughter in between — but by the end, Megan & Joe’s wedding couldn’t have been any more perfect.

Congratulations to Hannah & Chris on their beautiful day at 🌿💍 From the calm of early morning prep to the adorable flower girls and handsome Finley in his suit - your day was filled with joy, even on a hot summer’s day!

The bridal party brought the energy, and the dancefloor was alive all evening long. Huge thanks to the incredible team at Nunsmere Hall for providing such a dreamy backdrop, and to all the talented vendors who made the day shine:

Part two of Tisha & David’s epic wedding day at and it just keeps getting better! 🔥

We headed over to the Bolton Abbey ruins for some unforgettable bridal party fun and couple portraits — such a stunning and dramatic setting. Then back to the barn, where those exposed beams and vaulted ceilings made the perfect backdrop for the evening celebrations.

Massive shoutout to the incredible for bringing serious energy to the party and keeping that dancefloor packed all night long. We ended the night with a sparkler send off and some dreamy night portraits outside the barn ✨
What a day! Thank you again to the amazing team for hosting such a beautiful and well-run wedding. Still buzzing from this one!

A huge congratulations to Tisha & David 🤍 What an unforgettable day!

Here are some of our favourites from the morning – filled with laughter, anticipation, and a beautiful first look with Tisha’s dad and brothers. Then on to one of the most breathtaking ceremony settings we’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing: The Tithe Barn at Bolton Abbey .

There were so many heartfelt moments during the ceremony – from the look they shared down the aisle to the emotional music performed by Tisha’s bridesmaid and David’s dad on guitar. It was a real celebration of love, family and connection.

Part two of Leah & Tom’s wedding at , and what an evening it was! ✨

We were treated to the most beautiful golden hour light - perfect for relaxed portraits and some fun with the groomsmen (including a moment with Tom’s beloved medium format camera 📸).

As the sun dipped, the party came alive - with serious energy on the dance floor, especially from the bridesmaids who absolutely brought it! 💃🔥 The atmosphere was electric and full of joy from start to finish.
We wrapped up with a quiet, romantic shot under the pergola where they’d exchanged vows just hours earlier - the perfect end to an unforgettable day.

This one’s a special one for me 💛
I’ve known Tom for many years — a hugely talented photographer who used to work with me in my commercial business (). So when he asked me to capture his wedding to Leah, I felt genuinely honoured (and maybe just a tiny bit of pressure to get it right 😅).

Thankfully, everything about their day was perfect. Full of emotion, sunshine, and set in the most stunning location at — an idyllic spot for an outdoor wedding in the Lancashire countryside. From the morning prep to a very emotional aisle moment (beautifully captured by my second shooter), it was a joy to document every second.
We had fun with the bridal party, soaked in the views during a relaxed portrait session, and celebrated with drinks in the garden — this is part one of their story, with more coming soon!

Part two of Nisha & Joe’s incredible wedding at the beautiful Dunkenhalgh Hotel & Spa — and now we’re into full celebration mode! 🎉🕺💃
From the bouquet toss (with the best reactions from the friend who caught it... and her partner 😅💐) to a packed dance floor and some serious party energy, this was a night to remember!
Huge shoutout to who absolutely smashed it — the music, the lighting, the atmosphere... everything was on point. 🔥 The room was buzzing from start to finish, and it was such a joy to capture it all!
