I’m really excited to be hosting the FREE Baby Week workshops tomorrow. There’s only one space left on the Behaviour Management workshop!
It’s worth noting these workshops are based on children aged 0-6mths, workshops for other ages will follow later on in year.
There is a lift from street level, which I’ll post some pictures of tomorrow, I’ll also be around to help.
Here’s a picture of me so you know who to look for.
Any questions feel free to message or email me @ [email protected]
Happy Fathers Day all 🥰

Please find a short video in the comments of how to find the Village Hall.
I’ve borrowed the video from a fellow Village Hall user as town will be very busy today so I’m avoiding the crowds…

Firstly, I wanted to say 🙏 for all the lovely comments about Little Northerners. We’ve even managed to get some coverage in who have been very supportive of the space since it opened 🙏 this all means a lot to me and .
I’d also like to them for your post yesterday, we are clearly not alone and and seem to be having the same problems 👎
I’m the eternal optimist, I’m proud we’ve delivered a free unmanned space in the centre of for nearly three years. I’m hopeful we can reopen again soon and have the space treated as it deserves 🫶

Temporary Closure Notice 😡
After much thought and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to temporarily close Little Northerners PlaySpace without notice.
Our Mantra of “No Prams, No Food, No Shoes” and “A Tidy Space is a Safe Space” along with the support of our fabulous regular families has carried us through delivering a consistently safe space for the last three years.
Despite the best efforts from myself, the fabulous site team (who reset the space daily) and my assistant who visits the space twice weekly to carry out safety checks, we have observed a rapid deterioration in how the space is being used.
Since some significant Social Media coverage at the start of the year our visitor numbers have doubled. During the same period the number of choke hazards we remove from the space weekly has doubled as has the number of broken toys.
In the last 5 months we have had more reportable safety incidents than we had in the previous two years put together.
In the background I have been working on what we could do address this without aliening our regular families who live in the city who rely on the space and help us care for it.
However, when I received pictures from the assistant, I was left with no choice but to act upon it.
How did we get here? Quite frankly.... grownups allowing their children to play in a way that is inappropriate and unsupervised, this laziness and disregard for the Little People who use Little Northerners has resulted in the space being unsafe.
What happens now?...... We need to take stock, Reset and rethink the whole concept.
I would like to extend my apologies to the majority of Parents, Grandparents and children who use the space regularly and to those who may have travelled to get here today.
If you would like to be notified of our future plans to reopen the space, please sign up to our mailing list or contact Emma on the email below.

It was just lovely to reconnect with the space and the Little Northerners families yesterday at our Easter Stay and Play. We were able to bring along our own 3mth and 4mth old babies to the space too…. The icing on the cake, I spotted a very generous donation of some wooden cars. Whoever you are… Thankyou 🙏

Why am I doing this ?

Place make it events is a small family centric events company to be based in the heart of Stretford. My vision is to deliver good quality experiences that are inclusive and accessible to all.

Having conceived, built and grown the Fleximinder childcare late in 2019 I decided to pass the baton on to someone new and draw on my experiences with children and as a parent to start a new adventure.

Having been offered the role of “Head Elf” by the big man himself at Elf Towers I has such a great time with the children I thought I would extend that enthusiasm throughout the year.

I will be working closely with Bruntwood and Stretford Mall to deliver high quality, accessible and engaging events with an emphasis on families although all the community will be welcome.
