โœจ Last week's Art & Wellbeing session was a little different!โœจ๏ธ

Alongside our weekly mindful check-in, breathwork and creative workshop (this week it was clay hand-building and yes, there was clay absolutely everywhere! ๐Ÿ˜…), we were delighted to spend some time with Green Party of England & Wales!

Our attendees loved the chance to chat, share ideas and put the world to rights over a brew. โ˜•๐Ÿ’š

โœจ Our weekly sessions are about far more than the creative activity itself. They're a chance to get out of the house, meet new people, build friendships, boost wellbeing and feel part of a supportive community. Week after week, we're reminded just how powerful that can be.

โ˜” It was lovely seeing everyone gathered together, sheltering from the Manchester rain, getting creative and enjoying each other's company.

๐ŸŽจ And judging by the incredible work the Green Party are doing in the community, we think they've earned a wellbeing session as much as anyone! Don't you agree? ๐Ÿ˜Š

โœจ I can't get over how incredible yesterday's Ottoman Art workshop wasโœจ

30 wonderful people joined us to explore an artistic tradition that has captivated people for centuries.

๐ŸŒท Our inspiration came from a beautiful ฤฐznik pottery design created around 1575, over 440 years ago.

To think that more than four centuries later, through our workshops, people are still gathering around these same birds, flowers and flowing patterns is quite remarkable.

๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ One of the things I love most about Islamic art is the way it finds beauty in pattern, nature and craftsmanship. The birds, carnations and leaves aren't simply decorative. They form part of a rich artistic tradition that continues to inspire artists around the world today.

๐ŸŽจ Every participant began with the same historic design, yet every finished piece was completely unique!

๐Ÿ–Œ One of my favourite things was seeing how proud everyone was of what they had created. It was especially lovely to hear that so many participants felt inspired to continue making art at home.

I loved chatting about supplies, techniques and future projects and I can't wait to see what you create next. Please do keep in touch and share your artwork with me!

โœจ Yesterday also marked the launch of Powerful Patterns, a new Creative Society series celebrating the stories, symbolism and beauty behind artistic traditions from around the world.

It was an honour to share a small part of this tradition and see so many people connect with an art form that has endured for over four centuries.

A little behind-the-scenes detail for the artists amongst you... ๐ŸŽจ

For this workshop we used hot pressed watercolour paper from , gouache paints from Winsor & Newton and Posca pens kindly gifted by POSCA UK | PAINT MARKERS.

The Posca pens were perfect for adding the final highlights and decorative details that helped bring these beautiful Ottoman-inspired designs to life. โค๏ธ

Thank you to everyone who joined us. Your artwork was absolutely beautiful and I left feeling inspired, grateful and excited for what's to come!
