We want to congratulate Dewi Emberton, who was recognized by Trans In The City () as their 2025 Trans Community Champion Student winner! We are incredibly proud of all he has accomplished.

Alas, we also have some bittersweet news. Some of you may know that Dewi started an organization working with transgender people in rural communities (). He has therefore decided to step down as directory of TPM at this time, to focus on providing much needed support to underrepresented communities, and we wish him the very best in his future endeavors. He has done a terrific job supporting Trans Pride Manchester during this transitional period for the organization itself, and he'll be missed as a colleague and a friend. Best of luck, Dewi!

The liquidation of Manchester Pride marks the end of an era, one defined as much by corporate influence as by community resistance. For too long, Pride in our city drifted away from its grassroots history, becoming a brand rather than a movement.

Manchester’s LGBTQIA+ community deserves better. We deserve Pride that is accountable to the people who built it, not to sponsors, not to shareholders, but to us.

Now is the time to come together for local groups, organisers, and individuals to work together on developing a sustainable, community centred future for pride movements in our city. If you have ideas for the future of Manchester’s Pride movement, want to collaborate with Trans Pride Manchester, or simply wish to connect and reflect, we’d love to hear from you.

The end of Manchester Pride is by no means the end of Pride in Manchester. It’s our opportunity to reclaim it.

In solidarity and strength,
Trans Pride Manchester

INTRODUCING OUR NEW DIRECTORS! 📣

Dewi (he/him) is from Wales and now lives in Manchester. He is a politics student with aspirations for a career in gender and sexuality academia and research. Outside of his studies, Dewi enjoys spending time with his dogs, reading, and exploring a diverse range of music.

Flaire (she/he) is a fat, disabled, transfem with a penchant for adopting lots names. Rest assured, he is the same girl as ever. One of the many poets about Manchester, she is proud to live here, create here, and now most recently hold the opportunity to work with local trans people and groups to make things better for us all. Outside Trans Pride, Flaire is a teacher with a background in psychotherapy and especially q***r prioritizing psychology. Her love of poetry, music, bugs, and the sea get her through each day.

Ramses (he/him) is a disabled trans man, originally from Italy. He's a writer, artist, activist, and EDI consultant. He's passionate about working with grassroots organisations and supporting children and young people. He lives with his cats, way more plants than he initially thought he would have, and a neverending pile of books.

Adam (xe/they) is an activist who is the spearhead of the Trans Pride Collective and is involved with the organisation of several trans prides around the world. Adam is extremely passionate about bringing communities together to achieve systemic change.

To everyone who attended and supported Trans Pride Manchester this year, Thank You!

Over 8000 of you attended and supported Trans Pride MCR this year. You all contributed to a powerful, beautiful reminder of what our community is capable of. Together, we showed that no matter the challenges we face, we will always stand tall, proud, and united.

From all of us at the TPM team, and the new directors Dewi, Flaire, Ramses, and Adam, thank you so very, very much. And to the incredible Arlo, who has poured so much love, time, and energy into TPM and is now moving on, we are endlessly grateful for everything you’ve done.

A huge thank you as well to all of our volunteers, your time, care, and hard work made the day possible. We couldn’t have done it without you.

Your presence, your energy, your love, it means everything. ❤️

🏳️‍⚧️ Protest March Route Update 🏳️‍⚧️

Hi everyone we’re really looking forward to marching with you TOMORROW!!!!

We’re really sorry for the short notice, but due to unexpected city works, we’ve had to slightly change the starting point of the route.

🟣 We’ll now be meeting at All Saints Park (just opposite The Proud Place) for speeches and the beginning of the march.
what3words //assume.shows.assets

🟡 For those joining the accessible or shorter route, the new meeting point is Bridgewater Hall, at the junction of Albion St, Lower Mosley St & Great Bridgewater St. Look out for two directors in pink hi-vis and a tall trans flag to gather with.
what3words //banks.dads.locked

🏁 We are still ending the march at Vimto Park as planned.

Thanks for your flexibility and understanding we can’t wait to come together in solidarity this weekend!
