Well… Manchester Village Pride 2026, you were AWESOME 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️❤️
I’m currently sat at home on the sofa, Disney on the TV, while my body and my social batteries are very much in recharge and recovery mode 😂 So I thought it was probably a good time to reflect on what an absolutely brilliant weekend it was.
I genuinely feel so grateful to have had the opportunity to DJ across The Rem Bar, The Cockatoo Club and Pop Lounge at Eagle Bar over Pride.
Friday and Saturday at The Rem were just something else. DJing right there on Canal Street, looking out at everyone having the best time… honestly, it was a bit surreal at times. The atmosphere was incredible and I loved every minute of it.
Then Sunday at The Cockatoo Club brought FOUR amazing acts — Martha D’Artha, Karla Bear, Sheila Diamond and Gladys Duffy.
Sheila Diamond was an absolute little powerhouse! Martha D’Artha is ALWAYS amazing, Gladys Duffy is obviously a firm favourite of mine, and Karla Bear… I’d genuinely forgotten just how bloody brilliant she is! 🤩 What a line-up.
And somehow we still weren’t finished…
Monday became SING ON MONDAY with the fabulous Vivienne Lindsay. It was so good getting to work with her again, and then we had a guest appearance from Gladys Duffy. The pair of them together were just brilliant. ❤️
One of my favourite parts of the weekend was also getting to DJ a proper pop set for so many of the regular faces I see at Sing on Sunday.
Normally they see the side of DJ Poni that plays the musicals and accompanies the show, so getting the chance to actually show them the other side of what I do — a proper DJ Poni pop set — was really special. And judging by the reaction, I think they rather enjoyed it 😂
Most of all though, I’m just incredibly grateful.
Grateful to the venues that trusted me to be part of their Pride weekend. Grateful to the amazing performers I got to work alongside. Grateful to everyone who danced, sang, said hello, came back night after night or just stopped for a little boogie.
And grateful that I get to do something I absolutely love.
