It is with very great sadness we share the news that Paul Cowperthwaite departed this world on New Year's Day after suffering from ill health for several years. He was a larger than life character and synonymous with the Forsyth Piano department for nearly 3 decades. Due to his ill health, Paul took early retirement at the end of 2024 and moved back to Scotland to be near family. He will be sorely missed by his colleagues and many customers from over the years. He lived and breathed pianos and loved to help people with any pianistic query. Paul took great pleasure and satisfaction in matching up every piano with the right home. In his last days he was taking much comfort in knowing he would join his beloved mother and find out what the pianos were like 'up there'!

We are sure many of you will have memories and anecdotes from over the years. Please do share with us and his family.

✨Free Recital ~ Thursday 22nd January✨

We're delighted to welcome Cardinal Quintet for our first recital of 2026!

They will present a varied programme of classical and contemporary works for flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn and bassoon, including Sweet Soufflé by Robin Stevens, who has recently entrusted his catalogue of compositions to Forsyth's publishing house.
