🌸 A whole year ago 🌸

A huge happy anniversary to Katie and Will, what an absolute dream you were to work with! I often think back to your wedding florals with utter delight!

You trusted me more than I’d ever trusted myself, my very first wedding booking before I even knew I wanted to do weddings! I hadn’t even got myself a wholesale when you confirmed! Your ideas and dreams came together and it was just utterly perfect!

What a way to celebrate your wedding other than mega peonies and the most gorgeous floral chandelier to frame your day!

I can never thank you enough 🩷

🌸 Brights to Pastels 🌸

I have seen a huge move this year to pastels, which I am here for! Everything is starting to flourish in the garden and I can’t wait to see what we create this year!

We have a busy month ahead with workshops, weddings and lots of orders. You overwhelm me with kindness - thank you soo much … here’s to the growing season 🌸🩷

🌸 Peace and Quiet 🌸

I have felt incredibly privileged today to have the most beautiful 1 to 1 workshop and spend the afternoon in the garden, pottering, planting out and listening to the birds.

Bramble is definitely enjoying the peace!

🌸 4 years ago 🌸

4 years ago, saw my best friend and I ( ) build a mega willow archway from scratch, planted up with climbing roses, moved to the wedding field and built up with mega blooms, including the most beautiful hawthorn blossom!

This was the perfect frame for our wedding vows, I couldn’t have asked for anything better on the world’s windiest days!

🩵🌸 International Nurses Day 🌸🩵

Often, I am asked…. When will you stop nursing?

The plan, is never to stop nursing but to continue intertwining it perfectly within the flower farm. Let me take you down the garden path ……

Imagine, creating farewell flowers without the ability to talk about death, have raw conversations and show empathy at a time it is needed the most.

Think about planning the perfect wedding florals without the ability to take a history, a story with detail, integrity and interest.

Consider growing your flowers without an interest and drive in science, to know the soil nutrients, why the seedlings aren’t thriving and when they should be cut. A master of science I hold in nursing but it empowers the growth of flowers.

Moving forwards to your hen party, baby shower, birthday celebration is filled with happiness, joy and confidence knowing I can show you creativity, lead you down a path of problem solving, deviation and determination.

Now, imagine all of those scenarios within nursing.

Nursing has given me the strongest ladder to be incredibly present in all of your work, every stem that is grown, every flower that is perfectly placed. My brain is wired in such a way that allows for perfection in the centre of chaos, a swan that floats along so gracefully.

Nursing and floristry, to me, is the perfect match that will not part.

🌸 Homegrown flowers 🌸

Today, has seen a lot of reflection!

I was quietly potting up a whole variety of cosmos, thinking about the creativity I was allowed to flow with last year.

Cosmos are such a delicate but bold member of homegrown flowers, they have their own personality but connect the colours perfectly.

Here we have a teeny arrangement of colour, all grown here at the farm. Dahlias, cosmos, strawflower and a dramatic amaranthus!!!! Ooooh I can’t wait for the colour to arrive!

🌸 Flowers from the farm 🌸

We have made it through winter, the flowers are blooooooming!!! I am soo excited!

Lots of things are happening here, soo many seeds, flower stand, digging over and planting up! Let the last frost arrive, we’re ready for you 💪

🌸 Alliums 🌸

This month we see the alliums popping through with rich purples and green!

These are super easy to grow in your garden, plant a bulb in the autumn, each year they’ll expand and split themselves and you’ll have multiple heads each year.

A gorgeous cut flower but also tremendously strong in the garden, bringing the deep purple, bees and beauty to your garden!

I hope you all have an inside job planned for the rain today. The sunshine will be back next week!
