FIRST TIME IN A YEAR!
It's been a while since I've tried on any dresses, and if I'm honest, my body is feeling a bit alien to me since having my daughter. But our new dresses by were crying out to me, so I've been trying them on in quiet moments.
Dresses shown;
DP425 Pocohontas
D437 Snow White
D433 Cinderella
In the past few months, I have given birth and turned 40. To say I have been going through a bit of a style crisis is an umderstatement, so I had no idea how I would find getting back in our gowns.
I chose 3 very different styles to get me started.
The idea of trying on a fitted dress on camera left me feeling uneasy. But, I surprised myself. How can you not feel glamourous in something so beautifully sparkly as Pocohontas! And although I'm not currently in love with it, I didn't mind how my figure looked in this dress.
I picked D437 to see how a strapless felt. I'm a lover of a sparkly tulle skirt, it's always my go-to look when choosing styles to film before pregnancy. I expected to have issues with a strapless style, given my bust changes multiple times a day due to breastfeeding. But I adored this cat-eye neckline and pleated bodice. I felt beautiful in it...but the tulle just wasn't working for me right now. But it's a ballgown, so what did I expect! It was bound to add volume to the area that didn't need it haha.
Finally, D433 Cinderella with it's jacquard fabric and corset structure bodice had to be filmed! The boning made me feel like my old self and the box pleats draped over my troublesome areas without highlighting them. I felt wonderful in this dress, it's a really good option if you want to feel 'held in'!
Every bride...no, scrap that, every WOMAN has a hang up or two about their bodies. As stylists, it's our job to find the dress that makes you forget about them and feel amazing. And if I can find some while going through my weight loss and age related style crisis, you definitely can too!
