Hello! Buckle in its a long one...
It's been a while... the last 6 months have been a whirlwind of change.. and it's been fantastic!
Last September I was fortunate to be given the opportunity to work as H.E technician for Carrickfergus Academy, an environment completely alien - aside from the cooking- and I've loved every day. The hours are sociable, there's a regular pay EVERY month and there's zero, waking in the middle of the night stress... and its just a bonus the H.E team and pupils are incredible.
With this in mind, I've taken the difficult but sensible decision to honour what bookings we have, not take on any more and close M.W.K at the end of August.
Over the last while working at the school and working part time is too much.
The last 8 1/2 years have been eventful to say the least..
There's been highs and lows, hard long days, 11pm bridal consults, bills, ingredient shortages, price increases, a global pandemic, 4am starts, 4am finishes, complete baking disasters, last minute allergies and family health emergencies not to mention a frustrated Mr Maggie trying to do my books when I couldnt quite remember what jeans a receipt might be in.... aside from all that, I've made life long friends with other wedding suppliers from every discipline, I've met some beautiful people and been honoured to have been part of their special days and anniversaries there after, I've been privileged to have provided a service to families at times of grief and celebration. The feeling of relief and pride when a thankyou note or email arrived...The kindness and support from other businesses in this industry is immense and I will miss it.
Happily I won't cut ties with Hillmount House... they can't get rid of me that easily!
So, thankyou. To all you lovely lovely people who supported me over the years.
*you all know I'm choking back right now 😭😭😭💔
Maggie or Jill, however you know me x
