EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION AWARDS 2026

Applications are now invited for awards from students who are progressing from secondary education to a high level course in Welsh, English, or a Creative Arts subject. The purpose of the award is to assist students with the purchase of materials or books at the start of their course. If a student has achieved musical qualifications during their school year but is pursuing a course in another field they may still be eligible if they continue to study or perform music. Applicants must state if they intend to take a gap year. Applicants must live in and around the Dyfi Valley, including Aberdyfi and Tywyn.

The Foundation was started by Sally Marshall and her late husband Jim and the Friends of the Tabernacle in 1995. Countless youngsters have benefitted since then and it is a privilege to keep in touch with them and watch them progress in their chosen careers.

The foundation is generously supported by a group of benefactors, donors and fundraising events. We gratefully acknowledge the support given.

How to apply for an Award
Students must write a letter of application stating their qualifications for an award and enclose a CV supported by two references from their current teachers. This application together with written references should be sent by July 18 to:

Mrs Sally Marshall
Chair Educational Foundation
The Tabernacle
Heol Penrallt
Machynlleth
SY20 8AJ

Presentation of Awards
Applications will be considered by a small committee. Those successful for an award will be invited to the evening concert at the Machynlleth Festival on Monday 24 August when the awards will be presented.

Acknowledgment and Feedback
Recipients of an award are required to acknowledge it by letter to Sally Marshall and inform her of how the money is spent. We also hope that each recipient will be prepared to contribute in some way in support of the Tabernacle. It is a pleasure to welcome back recipients who have been willing to give a talk, mount a small exhibition, give a recital or help with stewarding events.

Y TABERNACL MACHYNLLETH GWOBRAU 2026

Cynigir Ysgoloriaeth yn flynyddol ym mis Gorffennaf i fyfyrwyr sydd yn cwblhau eu haddysg Ysgol Uwchradd ac yn symud ymlaen i astudio Cymraeg, Saesneg, neu’r Celfyddydau mewn coleg. Pwrpas y wobr a***nnol yw cynorthwyo myfyrwyr ar ddechrau eu gyrfa coleg. Os yw myfyriwr wedi cyrraedd safon aruchel mewn cerddoriaeth tra yn yr ysgol ond sydd wedi dewis cwrs ar wahân i’r celfyddydau, mae cyfle i hwythau hefyd cael eu gwobrwyo os ydynt yn parhau i astudio neu berfformio cerddoriaeth. Dim ond myfyrwyr sydd yn byw yn ardaloedd Dyffryn Dyfi, Aberdyfi a Thywyn sydd yn gymwys i geisio am gymorth oddi wrth Ysgoloriaeth y Tabernacl.

Sefydlwyd Ysgoloriaeth Y Tabernacl gan Sally Marshall a’i diweddar ŵr Jim a Chyfeillion y Tabernacl ym 1995 ac yn y blynyddoedd cynnar a***nnwyd y fenter drwy gynnal cyngherddau ac ati. Yn 2005 penderfynwyd trosglwyddo trefniadaeth yr Ysgoloriaeth i Ymddiriedolaeth y Tabernacl.

Ymgeisio am Ysgoloriaeth
Rhaid i ymgeiswyr ysgrifennu llythyr at Mrs Sally Marshall yn cynnwys holl fanylion eu CV yn ogystal â llythyrau cefnogi oddi wrth eu hathrawon. Dylid anfon y llythyrau, erbyn Gorffennaf 18, at:

Mrs Sally Marshall
Cadeirydd Ysgoloriaeth Y Tabernacl

Machynlleth
SY20 8AJ

Cyflwyno’r Gwobrau
Gwahoddir yr ymgeiswyr llwyddiannus i dderbyn eu gwobrau yng nghyngerdd nos Lun Gŵyl Machynlleth ar y 24 o Awst, pryd y cyflwynir y gwobrau gan aelod o’r Ymddiriedolaeth.

Cydnabyddiaeth ac Adborth
Disgwylir i’r buddugwyr cydnabod eu gwobr mewn llythyr at Mrs Sally Marshall. Disgwylir hefyd i bob un ohonynt gyfrannu mewn rhyw fodd tuag at ymdrechion i godi a***n i’r Ysgoloriaeth yn y dyfodol. Yn ogystal bydd yn ofynnol i Mrs Marshall gael gwybodaeth sut y defnyddiwyd yr a***n a dderbyniwyd.
