Let’s talk about wedding trends.
A trend, by definition, is something that’s popular at a specific moment in time.
It’s what’s “in”, what’s being shared, saved, reposted and repeated, until the next thing comes along.
And when you’re planning a wedding, that constant stream can quickly start to feel overwhelming.
I’m saying this not just as a wedding planner, but as a 2024 bride too.
From a bride’s perspective, there’s huge pressure to get it right.
The right details.
The right look.
The right photos.
The right EVERYTHING.
It’s easy to start questioning your own choices when you’re constantly shown what’s trending, what’s being labelled a “must have”, and what weddings are supposedly meant to look like this year.
But your wedding isn’t content.
It isn’t a checklist.
And it isn’t a trend cycle.
The weddings couples still absolutely love years later aren’t the ones that followed every trend of the time. They’re the ones that made thoughtful, personal choices, choices that felt right for them, not just popular online.
That doesn’t mean trends are bad. They can be inspiring and fun. But they shouldn’t come with pressure.
Because what’s popular now can date your photos far quicker than you realise. And more importantly, the pressure to keep up can take the joy out of planning altogether.
So if I had to make one prediction for 2026, it wouldn’t be a colour, a bow, or a styling detail.
It would be more couples choosing meaning over trends, and creating weddings they will still love long after the trend cycle has moved on 🤍
