Last year a bride contacted me who was getting married in between Christmas and new year and she was really struggling when it came to her wedding flowers. 💐

She’d contacted a number of fresh flower florists who had all declined her flower order not because they didn’t want the business but because of the Christmas shut down. The flower wholesalers all shut down over Christmas for that much needed break and a lot of small business owners choose to fully switch off too and enjoy the festive period. 🎄

The beauty of dried and preserved flowers is that they can be made up in advance and still look perfect for the wedding day, I was able to make up and deliver the brides flowers a couple of weeks before Christmas so that she could relax knowing they were sorted.

If your planning a magical Christmas/ new years wedding save this post or share it if you know someone else who is ✨

How is is October 1st today?! I feel like I blinked and September was over 🤪

It’s been a busy month of rich autumnal and dark romantic florals in the studio and given that the supermarkets have been selling mince pies for a few weeks now I think it’s safe to start talking about Christmas! 🎄

Stay tuned for new designs launching in my Christmas collection this month and some beautiful winter wedding flowers 🌹

Another gorgeous autumnal dried flower wedding order that went out last week, this week i’m definitely seeing the shift into more jewel and darker tones, I’m still getting enquiries and orders for weddings this October but be quick if you’ve still not booked as I can only take on so many weddings per month 🧡

My biggest regret from my own wedding day is choosing fresh flowers for my bridal bouquet. My bouquet was still beautiful but it was gone within days.

I did make my own flower crown for the day so that is something I’ve been able to keep and cherish and although I don’t regret the use of fresh flowers entirely at my wedding for example on the tables and the larger arrangements that decorated the aisle, but I do regret using them for the smaller items like the bouquets and buttonholes. These are thing I wish I’d been able to keep but after hours out of water my bouquet was going brown and limp 😢

I looked into several preservation companies but the cost was around £300-£350 which was more than the cost of the fresh flower bouquet to begin with - which don’t get me wrong I’m not knocking what these companies charge it was simply that I didn’t have anything left in my wedding budget to fund that.

This is why I would encourage any bride to choose dried and preserved flowers from the start for the items you’d want to keep like the flower crown, bouquet and grooms buttonhole to avoid the regrets I still have 12 years later.

Save this post as your reminder if your still deciding between fresh and dried flowers for your wedding day 💐
