The Lyng Fling will be at Lyng Playing Field today, Saturday 13th September, raising money for Lyng Village Hall and some other great causes in our community. Come along and join the fun!

Today's the day! We absolutely cannot wait to welcome everyone to the LYNG FLING Community Fundraiser😁. We're looking forward to sharing all the fun stalls and activities with everyone, whilst we hopefully raise as much money as we can for our amazing local good causes - Friends of Lyng School - FOLS, Lyng Village Hall, Norfolk, Lyng Playground, β›ͺSt Margaret's Church, πŸ₯•Lyng Allotment Association and our local free magazine, πŸ“°Hill & Vale.
🚜 Tractors for the Tractor Run will be assembling at Lyng Playing Field from about 9am for 9.30am departure, returning approx 11.30am to park up for the afternoon.
🀩 LYNG FLING Community Fundraiser from 12-4pm at Lyng Playing Field, Richmond Place, NR9 5RR (please note disabled parking only at the field, all other vehicles please follow signs and marshal's directions to main event parking on Cadders Hill)
🐢 Fun Dog Show from 1-3pm
πŸ₯³ Continue the fun at the 'After Fling' from 4.30-6.30pm at The Fox At Lyng

If you're coming from further afield, please note that Lyng Road is β›”CLOSED❌ as you leave the A47 at Tuddenham, and the signed diversion uses tiny back-roads. We therefore recommend travelling through to the A1067 Fakenham Road and accessing Lyng from there.
πŸš—The main event car park is signposted off site at Cadders Hill, just a short walk away. Limited disabled parking at the playing field only. Thank you!πŸš—

Our Story

Lyng and District Community Hall (LDCH) are a CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation) with a Trust Deed and a Board of Trustees.

History of the Project...

1951 saw the conveyance of land from the Sayer family. In 1953 the original building was built and used as a village hall and ex-servicemen's club for Lyng and nearby Sparham, and was registered as a charity in 1966.

By the 1990's the hall was becoming tired and a team of volunteers started fundraising for a new hall. In 2011 a full structural survey report revealed the building was not fit for purpose, and so a new project team of dedicated volunteers started work on getting Lyng a new village hall.
