Glyn worked for the BBC for over 30 years and Katie 15 years, both as Presenters/Producers, itâs where they met - Glyn training Katie on the desk!
Glyn was Freelance whilst with the BBC, and ran his own Company âVideotrix,â offering Broadcast and Event Technical Support and also Media Training amongst others.
Katieâs career began in Dairy Farming, a time when very few women were in the industry. With appearances on Radio 4 âToday Programmeâ and âWomans Hour,â it was a certain Bill Turnbull who suggested she moved into Radio, so she did.
Wots Cooking was formed in 2012, after leaving the BBC. They had always Compered at events and we were still asked to do so - also to provide Camera work and sound, so the one thing missing was their own Demonstration Kitchen, so Glyn built one with the advice from a few Chef pals on design.
Now 8 seasons on, Wots Cooking work with around 50 events each year, mostly Food Festivals, including the UKâs first ever one, Ludlow. They now have a âTeam in Greenâ working with them, including many former BBC colleagues.
Away from Festivals, Glyn still teaches âRadio and Television Productionâ at a Midlands University and also still runs Media Training courses. He loves âSound Productionâ and regularly helps Professional Productions at a local Theatre.
Katie still has her roots in the countryside, living on a very small, smallholding. The cows and hens have gone, but still keeps a few sheep, just to keep her hand in. Katie used to also write a monthly column for Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Shropshire and Warwickshire âLife Magazines,â that doesnât happen now, but she still writes and her first book is âin productionâ as they say.
