🐾 Dogs on leads welcome The Castle is a ruin with rooms and towers to explore. It has one of only 5 nearly complete Norman Round Chapels which was re-roofed in 2019 and is now a very romantic wedding location. Ludlow Castle is open to visitors throughout

the year and hosts a variety of events. There are days where we are closed or on reduced opening hours so make sure you visit our website when planning your visit. We are also home to The Castle Cafe and The Castle Gallery, which are both free to enter.

Hello September! 👋

It may mean back to school for some, but we’re not packing away the fun...

First up, Ludlow Food Festival takes over the Castle from 11th - 13th September.
(please note the Castle is closed to visitors from Monday 7th – Tuesday 15th September inclusive.)

The weather may rather dreary, but we can assure the company is anything but!

It’s a day for discovering the fascinating encampment of the Beaufort Companye and friends. Visitors and welcome into the tents (those that are open!) to meet the re-en actors and see their displays.

This time tomorrow, the encampment will be open, armour will be on and Ludlow Castle will be looking a little more like its 15th Century self…

The Beaufort Companye will be joined by fellow re-enactors for three days of camp life, conversation, archery, combat and plenty of living history in between.

We're really looking forward to having them back, and to welcoming lots of you through the gates too.

The British weather may not be entirely on our side, but our final Falconry Thursday of the summer is still very much on! ✅

You'll be able to meet the owls, hawks, falcons and eagles throughout the day as planned, and we've added extra gazebos so handling can take place under cover.

The two flying displays are also planned to go ahead, although we'll need to keep an eye on conditions and may have to be a little flexible with timings if the rain has other ideas. ☔️

It's your last chance to meet these beautiful birds at the Castle this summer, so pull on a raincoat, bring your brolly and come and support us - we'd really love to see you. 🏰

And, of course, there's a nearly 1000 year old Castle to explore while you're here. A bit of rain has never stopped that... ☔️
