Sometimes life can be cruel. Sometimes life can be hard. Really bloody hard. Sometimes life throws things at you that you don’t ever imagine you will have to face, it’s the classic - it will never happen to me - I’ll be fine. Today is LadyLissys 6th birthday and today I am also here to tell you all that, for a while, I will be closing my precious business down. As you can imagine this has been an incredibly difficult decision, one that has and probably will always be one of the hardest I will ever make. But sometimes you have to be the bigger person and stand up and say I need time. I need to re-address my work/life balance. It’s not because I don’t love my flowers more than ever, but that for personal reasons I need to take some time to look after myself and know I have given everything.

Over the last few weeks I have spoken to a lot of you (cried down the phone) and I cannot tell you how overwhelmed I have been by everyone’s kindness and love. When I started contacting my lovely clients, I felt like such a failure and now by the end of contacting you all you have made me feel so incredibly brave for making the decision to invest in myself. Thank you for this gift. You have made a difficult situation and the hardest time a whole lot easier xx I never thought I would learn so much about myself through this process.

I’ve contacted all of my regular clients and of course all exhisting orders will be honoured. Please don’t panic! There’s still a summer of weddings - but as of today I will not be taking any further work on for a time.

I’m not disappearing I’m just stepping out of this time pressured, last minute, fast paced industry which I love, for a while. If you have been around here since the start you will know me and my husband also have @ Fold Farm, you will find me there, breathing in all of the fresh air at a much slower pace.

Finally, THANK YOU, thank you for believing in me, thank you for walking alongside me as I built a business from scratch, thank you for the places you have taken me and things you have taught me. Thank you for helping me grow into the person I am today. Thank you for being in this chapter with me.

So that’s that - the van is parked, the floor is swept and my own home is filled with flowers x a huge thank you to everyone who has supported LadyLissy this year. Whatever Christmas brings I hope you find what you need from it. If your heart is heavy because it isn’t how it used to be that’s ok and if your hearts heavy because it isn’t how it’s supposed to be then that is ok too. It’s ok to want to be alone and it’s ok to want to be surrounded by people. Just make sure you ride the wave because you can’t get off until you do. I hope has been kind to you and if not, baton down the hatches and try and make new traditions. Christmas can be really hard for so many let alone with a lateral flow permanently looming. Be kind to yourselves, be kind to each other. I’ll be raising a glass to you. See you in 2022 xx

I think these are my favourite table arrangements of this year so far. Happy Christmas Week chaps - whether you have to work right up to the line or have a chilled one I wish you all the best to get through it. Final orders for us will be Wednesday with the van doing her final round Friday morning. For the first time we will be closing down fully between Christmas and New year. It’s a bit of a nightmare to get flowers with how Christmas falls this year. So I’m having a little break x love to all x

Well chaps - today, I’ve decided it’s acceptable to talk about 🎄! I’m not one to pester people and especially not in October so now the 🎃 and the 💥 are out the way let the 🎄 spam commence. I’ve just shared our 2021 wreath collection over on stories for to peruse. Or alternatively you can scrap that and just give us a brief 🤣🤣 I’m just about to add on these lovely stars as an alternative. I made these all the way back in 2018 for a client and forgot how lovely they are. So if you would like an alternative . This may be the one for you. Or, like me this year, they will be remembering those who we can’t be with, making their resting place a little more festive x thanks as ever chaps for the support. Diary is bursting already. All the love x
