Today we looked at the freedom of moving a pebble on the paper with drawing materials + shadow drawing of wildflowers from using graphite sticks, pastels and pencils… It was busy with 18 participants, but when the lights came down + the spotlights came on we focused in on the beauty & escapism that comes with simple strokes, creating shadows & marking shapes… It was lovely to work alongside some of the students from Sense College- thank you to everyone who got involved for making it such a fun session… 🪴❤️✍️

Happy Pride everyone! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ Fearon Hall are supporting Pride again- and you can help by making a free felt banner and marching with us on Saturday 22nd August. At the hall we are blessed to have so many amazing volunteers who help us in so many different ways… Last year so many people from all walks of life volunteered their time + skills to make squares for the Community Pride Blanket - thank you to all the community spaces who got involved. This year we hope as many (if not more) people can make their own banner- either by picking up materials from us or by coming to a workshop at the hall or at another community space. Lboro Pride is a volunteer run organisation- take part & come together in this making- show that Charnwood is a safe & welcoming place for everyone. Preparing for the first Mindful Garden session on Wednesday 10am-12noon- doodling & shadow sketching. Sadly rain is forecast throughout the day so we will be in our usual spot on the old farmhouse tables in the hall. We can still be inspired by nature. Plus we can stay cosy with tea & cake available from the Cafe too 🥰🤭

Come and join us in the Rectory Wildlife Garden (weather permitting) from 10am this Wednesday, to enjoy some nature inspired doodling & sketching… Each week we introduce a new simple creative task, accompanied by some meditation & simple breathing- create- relax- refresh… For more information on mental heath support visit the hello help hub drop ins at the hall on Wednesday afternoons. Thank you for letting us use the garden to enjoy these mindful sessions.
