Wholesome and wholehearted, bursting with wild and joyful flowers and the loveliest personal touches throughout. Including our new fave alternative to a guestbook, a guest tea towel. You know the ones, the classic Primary School favourite, that you adored as a kid. Simply get all your guests to do a little self portrait (ideally after a few margs) and then after your big day, get it turned into your new kitchen love.

Other details we simply adored, Flat Cap Ale on tap in the bar in honour of Joe's dad. A delicious homemade cake table with sooo much yumminess, topped with the cutest homemade topper, handmade personalised napkin holders and jazzy napkins to suit. And the sweetest couple perfectly sandwiched in the middle of it all with a wonderful homemade, tablecloth, summing up the day perfectly.

The joy, oh the joy of this incredible ceremony. Not to mention just a few tears shed in between. Hosted by the incredible Kerry from The Birds & The Bees Celebrant in one heck of a sparkly number, there was Baby Guinness’ poured, knitting done in honour of Dulcie’s beloved Nanni Bet, a good old sing song, handfasting, and even a bagpiper to lead the guests into the woodland. Topped with these two wonderful beings, who just litterally beam joy and love!

Any one questioning who to make their witnesses? D&T had a fab idea for you. Give everyone a raffle ticket as soon as they arrive, then mid ceremony, each of you pull out a raffle ticket. And voila, the winning two tickets are your witnesses. And then, they must pour you all a shot of Baby Guiness and toast the marriage right there and then. Bravo!

Who fancies starting their day with a refreshing lake dip, surrounded by fells and your best pals? There's a few Then pack your swimmers and get it done! Get yourselves down to Crummock Water (or Bassenthwaite, Loweswater or Buttermere). You might even fancy practising a little pre wedding synchronised routine with your pals. Whatever your planning was though make sure you ask your photographer to capture the frolicks too.

This was just the start of this glorious day, so there will be lots more to come!

Happy 1st of October! Goodness me, how did it get to October? It's officially time to whip the fire on and cosy up in a big old knit and we are ready for it! To celebrate the start of the cosy season, here's one incredibly beautiful wedding from last October. The wonderfully personalised, gorgeous day of Rosanna and Daniel.

The flowers, the colours, the food, the styling it was all just so beautiful and they even had a falconry display and a little Crummock Water adventure just before dark.

The library. One of our favourite rooms in the farmhouse. Sultry and cosy, warm and oh so inviting. The perfect w**e gobbling room, complete with the most idyllic views over the Northern Fells and the cottage garden. A wall full of old books, an open fire and my favourite painting by a dear friend. Not to mention a fancy dress chest that to get lost in.
Whether an elopement for two, a mini micro wedding for you and your closest crew or just a jolly good brekky the day after your big day, it's a real treat and all yours.

A trip down memory lane to Sarah and David's absolute beaut of a day this eve. Early May bank hol and the kinda perfect day that shines joy in every wonderful detail. The day before was like a flower market in the barn, with Sarah and a hive of ladies creating the most wonderful scenes, but nothing was to top the ceremony itself. Gorgeous from start to finish, with an epic soundtrack of music to suit and the greatest first dance song in LH history. Frank Sinatra performed by one of David's groomsmen Tom Walker 🙌🙌

The joyous day of the absolutely beautiful Louise and Charlie. The smiles on these two faces!

After getting married at one of our charming local churches, these two snuck into the farmhouse while we gathered their guests for confetti out of the front door. Giving them a beautiful ‘welcome to your wedding’ kind of entrance. The day that followed was just so beautiful, with speeches in the woods, sparklers at dusk, gorgeous people and gorgeous sunshine, and these two fabulous humans at the heart of it all.

Cheers to you two wonderful people. We've loved getting to know you and seeing your day come to life was the 🍒 on top ❤️❤️

Speeches. They don't have to be just after dinner or just before dinner.

They don't even have to be inside during your Wedding Breakfast. They could even be outside. In a woodland. In a woodland with a babbling beck called Little Sandy Beck with festoon lights twinkling, leaves gently falling and golden sunlight creeping through the trees.

Just a little idea!

And don't fear, if you do decide to do your speeches outside, we'll have a mic and speaker there waiting for you, along with fizz for all your guests.

This little idea is one of our favourites and these are the wonderful speeches from Lauren and Dan's brilliant day.
