We've been a bit quiet online recently but that doesn't mean it's been quiet here at Kentwell! Let's fill you in ...

After Tudor Michaelmas and our Michaelmas schools visits, we've waved goodbye to the Tudors for another year. But don't worry! They'll be back next year and it won't be long till we'll see the Victorians at Dickensian Christmas (tickets coming soon!).

We've had some beautiful autumnal days here recently (as well as deluge!) shared with our visitors and group tours. There's also been some new arrivals (more on that soon 👀) and we're full steam ahead preparing for Scaresville (our halloween scare event).

With Scaresville just around the corner, you'll find some new additions to the grounds and a few areas closed to visitors. We'll be open 11am to 5pm this weekend then closed for house and grounds visits until half term when we'll be bringing some spooky fun to the grounds.

You see, it's all go this Autumn! We hope we can share it with you and maybe we'll see you this weekend. For tickets and more info, please head to our website.

Who's ready for another day of Tudor Michaelmas!

We had a most wonderous day with the Tudors yesterday so we thought we'd visit them again today! Today is the final day of Tudor Michaelmas and your last chance to see the Tudors this year!

We hope you'll join us today and experience the sights, sounds, and smells of 1553. We'll be open from 11am to 5pm and tickets are available online and on the door.

Good morrow and welcome to Tudor Michaelmas!

The flag is up and the clocks have been turned back all the way to September 1553! Mary I is now Queen, the harvest has been taken in and the manor is as busy as ever!

Join us this weekend and explore life in another time as you encounter the sounds, smells, sights and Tudors of Tudor Suffolk!

Tickets are available both online and on the door and our tearoom and grill will also be open over the weekend. We hope to see you there! 👋

The tents are up and it's almost time for some Tudor time travel! 🏵🍂

Explore life in 1553 with us this weekend at Tudor Michaelmas! From the gentry in the house to the workers across the grounds, experience the sights, smells and sounds of a real Tudor manor!

We'll be open from 11am to 5pm on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th September. Tickets are available online from our website as well as on the door.

Have you ever wondered what life was like in Tudor times? Then join us this weekend for Tudor Michaelmas and find out! 🏵🍂

Listen to the sounds of wood being chopped, metal being worked, and songs being sung. Smell the food being prepared over wood fires and in brick ovens. Watch as a Tudor community comes to life, working and playing across the grounds.

Time travel couldn't be easier! Perfect for history fans, history curious, and those looking for an adventure this weekend, we hope you'll join us in 1553!

Did you know today is the Autumn Equinox? 🍂

That’s right, autumn has officially begun! And you don’t need to look far around Kentwell to see the signs - just look at all these autumnal colours!

Have you spotted any of these warmer hues across our gardens, grounds, and house recently? Come and see them for yourself this autumn and be sure to share any photos you take if you do, we love to see them!

We’re open this week from 11am to 5pm Wednesday to Friday for general visits and then 11am to 5pm this weekend for Tudor Michaelmas! Will we see you there?

It's almost time to return to 1553! 🏵

Join us this weekend for Tudor Michaelmas and experience what life was really like back in Tudor Suffolk!

In September 1553, Mary I has taken the throne after Lady Jane Grey's (short) time as Queen. Those who put Jane on the throne (including one of the Clopton's own relatives!) are now being held in the Tower of London.

Meanwhile, on the Kentwell Manor, life continues as normal. There's music, crafting, work and play, and Michaelmas preparations begin as the harvest season ends and the darker months arrive.

Get closer to history with us this weekend (26th & 27th Sept) and immerse yourself in all things Tudor! Tickets are available online now or on the door.

As the seasons change, there's always something new to work on in our gardens.

Now we've had a healthy amount of rain, Kentwell's lawns have bounced back brilliantly! But with that comes the return of mowing and, of course, weeding.

The gardens team have also been busy sowing perennials, hardy annuals, and a few winter vegetables too ... as well as all the usual jobs! And look how beautifully their hard work is paying off!

Come and experience the changing seasons with us and have a wander around our gardens and grounds. We're open Wednesdays to Sundays through September, 11am to 5pm.

We always love hearing your thoughts from your visits, here are a few that have made us smile recently.

"More chickens", tearoom and gardens love and even these kind words from Rachel, we're lucky to have such lovely visitors!

"I'm so grateful for the care and stewardship the current custodians have put into this exceptional place. Thank you and thousand times and just visit, you'll be changed forever."

Soon we'll be turning back the clocks once more to Tudor England! On the 26th and 27th of September, join us for Tudor Michaelmas and experience daily life on the manor.
