Beautiful Day Bridal Cottage's story began many moons ago....
As a young girl growing up in my hometown of Derry, I was lucky to have such a talented seamstress as a mother, and my childhood was surrounded by sewing machines, needles and threads, and a mind filled with wonder and awe of how all the fabrics were transformed into the most beautiful garments including many, many wedding dresses. It

's no wonder that when it came to my own wedding that I designed my own dress (and helped my mother to make it) and I finally I took the plunge 4 years later when I turned a passion for bridal fashion into my very own bridal boutique. I opened my bridal shop in September 2004 in the village of Greysteel and my focus was - and still is - to offer a wedding gown shopping experience like no other in the Derry/ Londonderry area - with intimate, individualized attention from myself and my knowledgeable team who will help you say "yes" to your dream wedding dress in a relaxed, friendly and fun en

What a fab wee day to end a brilliant week! ❤️❤️❤️❤️Today was our last ever day at Beautiful Day Bridal Cottage and it was lovely to end my wee chapter on such a lovely note!! Every bride this week (except one!) found her wedding dress with us, so loads of happy moments and smiles all around! Had to get a photo too with my last ever bride to choose her dress with us too (and the third of the O Neill sisters to say yes the dress at Beautiful Day!!!)
I’ve been overwhelmed with all the love, support and good luck wishes I’ve received - from friends, family, customers, Greysteel neighbours and wedding industry friends. I’m going to miss my job loads…. well, most of it anyway! Definitely going to miss all the brides in getting to choose their wedding dresses and helping to create all those magic moments. I’ll treasure those forever! But it was definitely my time to move on and say goodbye to self employment and running a business in a very tough climate. I feel so happy with the choice I’ve made - I’ve closed the chapter on my own terms, and I’m feeling so content to have already made a start in my new job and know what path is in front of me. If you’re a past customer and see me at Waterside library, please come over and say hello (be warned, I am terrible at remembering people’s faces, so do tell me who you are!!).

Last chance to say yes to the dress at our shop! Pretty much all our dresses are now in the size 12-16 range (to fit brides who normally wear 10-14 in high street sizes) and if you check our wee video from earlier today, you’ll see that we still have plenty left to choose from! All priced between £95 and £350. Some serious bargains!! And we still have a few slots on Friday 22nd and Saturday the 23rd. Get in touch if you are engaged and haven’t been down to see us yet! Or maybe you’re looking for a second dress to change into? Only two days of trading left.

Just a note to let you all know that we still have appointments free over the last remaining three days. We can’t believe the response to our sale to date!! If anyone knows me, they’ll know how I love my statistics, and we just worked out that 87% off brides who visited us in the past 3 weeks have said ‘yes to the the dress!’ - it’s been so uplifting to see so many smiles and see so many happy brides leave our shop with their wedding dress!! Lots of brides have been coming in with no idea of what they want…. Some don’t even have a date set yet!!! But most of them are striking it lucky by finding their dream dress….. and getting it at a dream price too!!!!

We have been pre-qualifying our appointments too and making sure that we have dresses in stock that our brides like and ones in the right sizes to try on, so get in touch with any questions and we’ll let you know in advance if it’s worth coming to see us.
In a nutshell, if you are liking what you see on our website, and you wear up to a size 14 on the high street…. and you have £350 (or maybe even less) to hand, then the answer is… BOOK IN!!!

Don’t forget, this Saturday is our last day open to to the public. After that, we’ll be focussing on clearing our shop out and shipping any remaining dresses off to trade customers.

If you love this dress, it’s a UK 14 (would be perfect for someone who wears a 12 in most high street stores and it’s currently selling in shops which stock the latest Essense of Australia gowns for £1695. It’s in our shop for three more days and we’re selling it for only £350!!!! A complete bargain!!

Massive congrats to the new Mr and Mrs Logan!!!!

A big thank you to Keria Mullan who sent me the loveliest wee message earlier this week and some snaps of her wedding day! Keria chose a gorgeous lace Maggie Sottero gown with us and she looked absolutely stunning!! Check out that train - and love the wee jacket!!!
Hope you two are enjoying married life - it was lovely to hear from you after tying the knot!!

This fabulous dress by Essense of Australia is reduced to £295 in our closing down sale. It’s a UK 14 (which in reality, it will fit a bride who normally wears a 12 in most high street stores). Such a timeless and classic look for the bride who wants chic and simple for her wedding day look. And the back is gorgeous too with it’s scooped back and buttons the whole way down the back! Love it!!

We have appointments left from Wednesday through to Saturday at lunchtime. So get in touch to book in to see what we have. If you wear up to size 14 in high street sizes, you’re going to have an amazing selection still here to choose from!

I love the drama with this dress by Maggie Sottero!! The detachable train adds even more grandeur to your big entrance and it can be taken off later to show the fitted mermaid silhouette of this dress. An absolute steal at only £350… this dress was originally selling at £2000!!! We have this in ivory in a UK 14 (fits like a 12 on the high street) and this could easily be take down too to fit someone who wears a size 10.

It’s finally here - our last week!!

Get in touch to book your appointment. We’re still doing private slots for all brides visiting our shop, so either send us a DM, call us, or fill in the booking request form on our website.

Important update - we’ve pretty much sold out of dresses in the size 18+ range. We still have a great selection of gowns from sizes 12 to 16. Wedding dress sizes run small, so these dresses would fit someone who wears a 10, 12 or 14 in high street sizes. If you wear a size 8, you can always get our smallest dresses taken in a size too. If you’re not sure what size you wear, get in touch and we can help advise you if we have dresses to fit.

We’ve had such a busy day today and everyone who came to visit us walked away with a wedding dress!! This does mean however that some sizes are getting closer to being sold out. Just a wee update for anyone looking to know how we are fixed for sizes at the minute.

Most of our dresses left are in bridal sizes 12, 14 and 16. Bridal sizing is a bit different to high street sizing, but if you normally wear between a 10 and a 14, then you’ll still have plenty of choice! We’ve had lots of brides in buying who normally wear a size 8 on the high street too, (equivalent to a bridal size 10) and they have been able to buy the bridal size 12s and are getting them taken in a size.

Things do start dipping when you hit a bridal size 18 though. From 18 to 24, we only have a handful of dresses. These would typically fit a bride who wears high street 16 to about a 20.

We still do have a few 26s and 28s, so if you’re that bit curvier (around a 22 on the high street) then we still have a few to choose from too.

Just a heads up too that we are almost fully booked for Monday - we still have some availability left in the afternoon. No availability on Tuesday, but still plenty of slots on Wednesday through to Saturday the 23rd which is our final day.

And once again, a reminder that everything is £350 or less!! 😮
