Looking back at last week’s annual conversation through the full set of photos from .

Six hours of conversation across twelve perspectives, exploring how we lead through uncertainty.

The values we need.
The trust we have to build.
The moments for creativity we must make space for.
The risks we take and learn to mitigate.
The communities we can build and so much more.

There are, as ever, many answers, and we’ll be sharing them this week.

We’ve just shared the programme for next week’s One Question annual conversation, asking:

“How do we lead through uncertainty?”

Eleven perspectives, from business, policy, and culture , threaded together to find new answers to some of our biggest challenges.

Leading with values when profit takes priority, with Simon Rogerson of Octopus Group to the importance of factual news, with Fiona O’Brien, Reporters without Borders to finding opportunity in risk, each voice brings something different.

And while I wish it didn’t need saying, it feels more important than ever to do so:

Of the fourteen guests helping us start these conversations, eleven are women, three are men, and all bring different cultures, backgrounds, and identities.

I didn’t set out to achieve this, it’s simply who we are. You can’t answer any question without every perspective at the table.

I’m so excited to host our seventh annual conversation next week.

Excited to share the launch of our new Many Answers Critical Thinking workshops, designed to find new new answers and solutions we can use in our business, careers and lives the very next day.

It has always been so important to us at One Question that through the questions we ask and the conversations we curate, we find practical, tangible solutions to the challenges we face, especially right now. This series is the next step in making that possible.

We launch on 10th October with One Question member and former Presidential speechwriter Peri, who joins to explore:

How do we communicate through uncertainty to find trust?

Since her time as a speechwriter for President Obama, and going on to found her own communication business in Washington, D.C., she’s helped leaders speak with clarity and conviction in some of the most complex, high-stakes environments and is the perfect person to launch this series with us.

Our workshops are limited to 15 people and are curated with research, critical thinking, and practical frameworks to find your new answers.

“I’ve come to think of uncertainty as the gap between what we know and what we need to understand. Sometimes it’s measurable, and we call it risk; other times it’s unknowable, but at its core, uncertainty is the tension between understanding and acting and with that tension comes a need for faith.”

The first conversation in our new series with is this Wednesday evening, asking:

“Can we automate what is meant to be felt?”

In the rush for efficiency and the drive to automate so much, can we ever really automate connection, passion, empathy, or humour? Should we outsource the creation of human connection to robots that can’t feel it?

How do we better balance the desire for innovation with our capacity to relate to one another?

will be joined by writer, brand consultant, and former Global Head of Copy & Editorial at Bumble to explore this One Question in conversation to find Many Answers.

We have a few guest tickets available if you would like to join us, just send us a DM, or Soho House members can register via the app!
