Grief doesn’t follow a script. 🤍

Every person grieves differently. Some need to talk, some need silence. Some find comfort in memories, while others need time before they can face them.

There is no right way to grieve. No timeline. No “should”.

As a funeral celebrant, this is something I hold very close. Every life is unique, and every farewell should honour the people, relationships and emotions that make that life special.

My role isn’t to tell someone how to grieve — it’s to listen, to understand, and to create a ceremony that honours your loved one, in your own time.

Because every goodbye is different. And every journey through grief deserves compassion, patience and understanding. 🤍

What a privilege to officiate and write my first funeral service today. Everyone’s life deserves to be told, because the measure of a person is not in achievements or accolades but in the mundane, everyday moments that bind us all together: A ‘hello’ on the street, a small deed, a ‘mind how you go’. Those are what we will remember. 🌻🧡🙏🌞⚰️

Next week, I’ll be leading my very first funeral service as an independent celebrant, and I couldn’t feel more honoured.

I’m currently putting the finishing touches on my script, making sure every word reflects the life being celebrated with the care, compassion, and respect it deserves. It’s a responsibility I don’t take lightly, and it’s a real privilege to be trusted with such an important moment in a family’s life.

Every life has a unique story, and being able to help tell that story and create a meaningful farewell is exactly why I chose this path.
