Tying the knot.
🪢 the tradition of hand fasting has old Norse roots and comes from the word ‘handfesta’ meaning to strike a bargain or make a promise by joining hands.

🎨The colour green symbolises calm, harmony and new beginnings. But you can choose your own colours that mean something to you.

🌳Death is a part of life. So up at Greenacres in Epping, they have created beautiful, natural spaces in British woodlands and landscapes that help people come to terms with loss.

Yesterday was their community day. A chance to say hi, and to chat to all the unique people that support the site.

🦉The team do a wonderful job. They only use wood and natural materials in their buildings and memorials, so this makes for a very special goodbye when it comes to it.

Being in nature and allowing yourself to breathe in the seasons across the year can really help you in your journey of bereavement and loss. 🌳

Grief doesn’t follow a script. 🤍

Every person grieves differently. Some need to talk, some need silence. Some find comfort in memories, while others need time before they can face them.

There is no right way to grieve. No timeline. No “should”.

As a funeral celebrant, this is something I hold very close. Every life is unique, and every farewell should honour the people, relationships and emotions that make that life special.

My role isn’t to tell someone how to grieve — it’s to listen, to understand, and to create a ceremony that honours your loved one, in your own time.

Because every goodbye is different. And every journey through grief deserves compassion, patience and understanding. 🤍
