This year THRIVE's month of events is kicking off with an auspicious evening of entertainment.

The Gin Trap Cabaret is a mash-up of music, mystery and mirth that celebrates fringe art forms by bringing them up close on an intimate stage.

More street than stage, and more variety than cabaret.

You will see things you have never seen before and will never see again, guaranteed!

Free entry! Come early and enjoy some drinks in this legendary Derby venue!

*The Gin Trap Cabaret is an irregular monthly cabaret that has been running since 2015 at The George Pub in East London.

In that time it has hosted a variety of fringe artists including clowns, contortionists, comedians; fire, hoop and whip artists; poets, singers, bands and MC's; magicians, mentalists and manipulators; belly dancers, swing dancers and break dancers.

It's a place to express, share and celebrate those on the fringe.

Entry is free. Performer's donate their time for free.

In the tradition of street performance we pass a hat for donations encouraging the audience to give what they wish and can afford and these are shared evenly amongst everyone involved.

At this one-off special THRIVE event, ALL involved are donating their time for free and ALL donations will be ploughed back into promoting THRIVE festival, and supporting charities associated with the event.

Back again for a summer spectacular, providing the best ending to your Sunday session, The Gin Trap Cabaret is free to attend. Mashing up music, comedy and mystery, come along and settle in for two hours of entertainment.

Join us from 8pm on Sunday 18th June at The Gin Trap Cabaret, East London. It takes place in the legendary space that is The George Tavern. One of the most important inns in London.

Hosting is in the hands of the unashamedly unashameable Emily Elias, resident musicologist Nat Blooms, and some eic folk/pop from Hugu Kensdale. Expect a unique and beautiful mystery from new guest Sylvia Sceptre. Add the usual dose of magic and mind games, plus friends and you will leave lifted, like something has shifted without needing to know what or why!

A massive thanks to everyone who performed at or attended the December Gin Trap Cabaret.

Our new resident songbird Nat Blooms treated us to some of her new material as well as a festive singalong. Europe's premier mentalist Timon Krause, demonstrated some incredible mind reading with much comedy, and Richard Sullivan finished both halves with an amazing demonstration of his incredible juggling and yoyo skills.

Marcus Lewis and myself, Anthony Jacquin enjoyed it immensely.

The next Gin Trap is on February 5th. We have three musical acts already booked. It is going to be a big one, so put it in your diary and come and join in the fun!

Thanks to everyone involved in The Gin Trap Cabaret last night!

Despite the weather, it was a busy night, fun audience and great acts.

Magic, mystery and mind games from the maestro Marcus Lewis, the geek Darren Smith, whimsical wizard Leon Simmonds and the benevolent diabolic David Stewart.

Tamsyn Kelly did some hilarious and original stand-up. Jason Simmons rocked comedy gold with his dbl necked guitar and Nat Blooms gave a stirring solo performance. Amazing voice!

The next one is on December 18th.
