Since the doors opened in 1979, this unique venue has been entertaining children with resonant, engaging and exciting theatre. Over 100,000 children a year come to Polka and are inspired, stimulated and engaged by theatre, often for the first time. Polka strives to stir the emotions, spark the imagination and, most of all, entertain. Its two theatre spaces, the Main Theatre and the Adventure Theat

re are designed especially for children so that their first taste of theatre is welcoming and relevant. Opening Times:

Tuesday – Friday: 9am – 5pm
Saturday – Sunday: 9:30am – 5pm (excluding Bank Holidays)

The building is closed on Mondays. Box Office Opening times:
Tues-Fri – 9am – 5pm
Sat-Sun – 10am – 4.30pm

We're going dark for our yearly maintenance👋

What you need to know:
⭐ Our play spaces, café and shop will be closed from now until Tuesday 9 September

⭐ Box Office will be open Monday - Friday only, 9am - 5pm. It will be closed 30 & 31 August and 6 & 7 September. You can book tickets online at any time

⭐ Shows will begin again in the Adventure Theatre with Baby, Bird and Bee on Wednesday 17 September and in the Main Theatre with Well Done, Mummy Penguin on Saturday 18 October

⭐ Our workshops will be back w/c Monday 24 September

Favourite thing about volunteering at Polka? Getting to be a part of my local community. I'm not originally from Wimbledon and volunteering here has made me feel more connected to the area and I love getting to meet people who I'd never have met otherwise.

We're recruiting for new members of our Young Ambassador's scheme, including:
- Younger Voices (5–7yrs)
- Young Voices (8–12 yrs)
- Polka GRADS (12+ yrs).

Children part of this unique scheme will get to offer feedback on new productions, go on backstage tours, write blog posts and much more!
