Out and about doing one of my favourite things today - seeing new venues and scouting around the local area to get a feel for the place. It’s so important to do this - you absolutely must see your venue before you book it!

Today I was delighted to discover a street food market in Elephant and Castle just in time for lunch.

Much quicker doing event floor plan cross checks with 2 pairs of eyes. He’s a natural!

Having a proud moment tonight after we successfully pulled off a logistically challenging event this week.

I’m so lucky to know so many dedicated suppliers who go to the greatest of lengths to support what we do.

Knackered but happy 😃

I enjoyed meeting the wonderful Events team at Wembley Park yesterday and sharing some thoughts, tips and experiences with them.

We had a really interactive session, with some on the fly added content! All in the name of making it as valuable and worthwhile for the team as possible.

I’m looking forward to returning soon for some more hands on planning sessions!

I went along to a breakfast event last week, a panel discussion on the topic of Negotiation.

There were some brilliant quotables - I thought I’d share my favourites here:

“Planning and preparation are 90% of negotiation”

“Talk about what you CAN do (your position) not what you CAN’T do (their position)”

“There is always room for negotiation!”

“You can’t construct a win:win scenario if you’re only negotiating over 1 thing. Don’t only focus on price.”

“Don’t succumb to the desire to be liked - aim to be respected”

“Existing suppliers will not want to lose your business - it harder to win new clients than keep existing ones”

Some great reminders I’m going to keep on hand!

I was chuffed to bits to hear my name featured in this enlightening podcast about what it’s really like to create your own event!

A recent client, Helen Packham, talks to Sales specialist Jules White about her experience of putting on her first ever live event - and I got a mention! Around the 12 min mark if you’re interested 😆

I feel FAMOUS!

I'm speaking to the fabulous Helen Packham who was my coach when I started my business. She organised a brilliant event this year called 'Entrepreneurial Leaders Live' 2018, where I was honoured to be

This morning I met with a client and we talked about processes and admin.

Boring eh 🤔

NO! Actually, it always gets me pretty fired up and feeling liberated!

To be successful, events need solid foundations and processes. A well run event looks SO EASY to achieve. People often wonder what it is that I actually spend all my time doing!!

The ONLY reason it looks easy is because of the processes and the responsibilities that everyone involved agrees to and then gets on and follows.

Once you have these core foundations in place, the fun can start as you build the layers of detail safe in the knowledge that, as long as you trust your team to deliver on their responsibilities, it will all come together.

Who else loves a process?! 🤓

Last week, at EL Live in Brighton, I had the pleasure of meeting a lovely lady, Vikki Parker, who was with us for the day as part of her new business venture, the Artist in the Audience.

As the day progressed, so did this amazing piece of art as Vikki took all the emotion, wisdom and insights being shared and interpreted them into her painting.

It was a privilege to watch it develop as the day went on and now there is a lasting piece of work that reflects the day. Signed prints are available for attendees to buy which seems to me a wonderful way to be regularly reminded of a transformational event.

Here’s a link to Vikki’s business page - she does all sorts of other wonderful things too as you’ll see!

Often on the bigger events I’m involved with we have suppliers to do all the various jobs for us - it’s a case of organising a mass effort to pull the whole thing off - on time, on budget.

So when I get to do some of the little detailed jobs myself it’s such a pleasure!

I’m having a lovely time making little bows while everyone else sleeps. I feel like I should be wearing a little elf costume 🧝‍♀️😆

Very excited to be on my way to the 2nd Club Fierce meet up 😃🥂

So good to meet in person after lots of daily support we all give each other online.

There’s bound to be another video coming soon 😃🎥

I’ve been enjoying pulling together a bespoke training proposal on Event Design for a big London event location 😃🤞

Crossing my fingers it goes ahead!

I’m still in shock that THEY came and asked little ole ME to help their team. Wow.

Does anyone else forget, on a regular basis, that they’re a grown up now and they kinda know a thing or two that might help others? Or is that just me 🤔😆
