I must admit I was stuck!
With guest numbers at weddings now reduced down to 15 I find myself having completely different conversations with couples and those wanting to celebrate in Style despite these restrictions.
I put my hands up as a Bride to be also struggling with these new restrictions but I have found hope along with my couples.
We were hopeful to being able to celebrate with our nearest and dearest sooner but with no choice but to wait for a few more months, below are some tips for those of us wanting an Opulent celebration on a mic scale:
1- Focus on experience, smaller size doesn’t mean smaller in anything else, it means you have more money per head to really pull out the stops. Weddings cost per head and so having fewer numbers will significantly increase your ability to WOW your guests! Invitations can be more grand, Florals and place settings too.
2- Having a smaller celebration now would allow you to also have a larger celebration later. Nothing stops you from hosting a larger wedding later and pull out all the stops.
3- Culturally, African weddings have traditions that we uphold from giving dowry, gift exchanges and just the beauty of traditional weddings. These are amazing on a large scale but don’t be disheartened, You can hold an intimate traditional wedding complete with all the gifts and most importantly honour your heritage. Again, Nothing stops you from holding another once you are able to.
