Happy Valentine’s Day! A day to remember love and be loved. Who and what are we without love?
Our core nature is to love, everything begins and ends with love. We understand and grow in love because Jesus is love personified! Because He First Loved Us, we can love others.
Love truly is steadfast and pure and it’s beauty goes beyond the romantic imagery of Valentine's Day! Instead of getting caught up in all the red roses and pink hearts, choose to do some random act of kindness!
Loves true breadth cannot be fully fathomed or quantified; so just relish and rejoice in its embrace. .
Father, you love us with an everlasting love. You opened our eyes and hearts to love and we truly have never been the same!
We pray that your love will be in our lives and our marriages. We can only love because you gave us the privilege of loving us first. .

They say that with knowledge comes power but really it’s growth and it’s in our growth that’s where real strength and influence is witnessed. As with everything, what you sow you reap – the same measure in what you put in will be the same measure in which you get out.

Growth does not just happen; it requires work – feeding into what you want to evolve. Having a blessed marriage requires effort on both parts. Take time to cultivate what is necessary to grow your relationship.

Father, we pray that through your love and word that our marriages will keep evolving to bring beauty and glory to your name. Let our marriages and relationships not remain the same but be actively growing to show forth the better versions of ourselves and as one. Amen

“I will – I promise!” How many times have you said this? The intention may be there but if you do not consciously commit to it the promise will never be fulfilled. When you took your vows, you made a commitment. You made that commitment in the knowledge you would do everything in your power to keep the promise. Do not let time or the circumstances of life chip away at the promise. The promise you made then still holds true now. Rekindle your desire to see that promise fulfilled. Have you ever noticed the look on someone’s face as they finished a charitable marathon? You may not have placed first competitively but that relief, that accomplishment when you cross the finish line is second to none; why because you undertook a task and made a vow.

"Do this wholeheartedly - with the fear of the LORD and with faithfulness.” (2 Chronicles 19:9)

Lord, help me to fulfil all the marriage vows that I made. We recommit our marriages to you. Give us the strength to honour our promises irrespective of the circumstances. Let us remember those promises and be diligent to carry them out. Amen

I love nicknames - if I have a special name for you – you’re endeared to me! When my mother calls my full name – it’s nearly always because I’m in trouble lol. It’s interesting the effect of not only what we say but how we say things influences everything.
“Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body.” Proverbs 16:24

We can be so quick to criticise and or speak out of turn but what does it truly profit you. Your words carry more weight than you know. Speak truth but also speak in love. Let your words and your speech bring forth positive and faith fuelled confessions.

Father, Let our speech be seasoned with goodness. Today we use the opportunity to speak life and confess your righteousness into our marriages. We declare that our marriages are blessed, healthy and protected. Our marriages are joyful and sealed in your love. Our marriages are of a Godly standard and will stand firmly in you. Amen

When you go to sit down on your chair – you comfortably assume that your weight will be supported. You rely on the structural integrity and foundation of the chair.

The same way we have to rely on God’s grace and Love to support our marriages. Healthy and strong relationships do not just happen but rooted in the right foundation is the first step to ensuring our marriages are fortified.

Being rooted in Christ allows us to flourish and grow as one.
