The penultimate recital of the Summer Festival: Javier Montanana, violin (from the Cygnus Trio, and he performed a lovely duo concert a few weeks ago with Hannah Lewis, cello) and Neil Crossland, piano. This week's recital on September 4th welcomes back two familiar faces: Nina Kopparhed, soprano and Neil Crossland, piano. The programme, "To a Sky-Lark" features songs inspired by the beautiful countryside, and will include the well-known 1st set of Chants d'Auvergne, including the gorgeous "Bailero". Also included are Neil Crossland's setting of Wordsworth's poem "To a Sky-Lark", a selection of songs from Andrew Wilson's "Stella's Cycle" (with poems by Stella Davis, describing the Somerset countryside) and arias by Handel and Rossini. As always, the recital is free entry with a retiring collection; the doors open 30 minutes before the recital starts, and everyone is welcome.

In this week's recital, August 28th, you will have two familiar faces performing: Hannah Lewis, cello (from last week's Cygnus Trio recital) and Neil Crossland, piano.
The photo is a screenshot from Hannah and Neil's beautiful recording of Neil's composition "Through the Hourglass": you can find a link to the full composition in the event https://fb.me/e/al9lLs5Iz, and you will also be able to hear it live in the recital, which is fully dedicated to Neil's compositions for cello and piano.

For our next recital, August 21st, we will have the wonderful Cygnus Trio: Javier Montanana, violin, Hannah Lewis, cello (both Javier and Hannah also have upcoming solo recitals at the festival - also not to be missed!) and Cesar Saura, piano.

Our next recital, Thursday, July 31st will, for the first time at Harrow Summer Music festival, feature a viola recital: Morgan Goff, viola and Neil Crossland, piano will be performing a programme themed "Fantasy", and will include music by Neil Crossland, Scharwenka and Hummel. On Thursday, July 24th at St John's Greenhill, Harrow, we have the wonderful Neil Crossland, piano, giving a recital at the Harrow Summer Music Festival. Neil's programme (full details here https://fb.me/e/3q2l0mw1s) will include a very wide range of music, from the Pachelbel canon (arr. crossland), via Clementi - Sonata in B flat major Op 24 No 2, to Chopin - Fantaisie Impromptu in C sharp minor Op 66 and Nocturne No 1 in B flat minor Op 9 No 1, as well as the very popular Beethoven Op 27 No 2: "Moonlight" Sonata. This Thursday, July 17th, we have the wonderful Trident Trio playing at the Harrow Summer Music Festival! Joanne Rozario, clarinet, Morgan Goff, viola and Neil Crossland, piano will be performing a fantastic programme, including the Mozart "Kegelstatt" trio and Bruch's 8 pieces. 2025 Festival announcement!

We're very excited to announce this year's programme, featuring gorgeous music played by:

Ensembles:
Trident Trio (Clarinet, viola and piano), Cygnus Trio (violin, cello and piano) and the Afton String Quartet, which will be playing music by composers from the London Composer's Forum.

Piano solo recitals:
Neil Crossland, Steve Law and Haruko Seki,

Duo recitals (all with Neil Crossland at the piano)
Morgan Goff, viola, Mark Wilson, violin, Javier Montanana, violin, Hannah Lewis, cello and Nina Kopparhed, soprano.

Festival dates: Thursday, July 10th until Thursday, September 18th, time: 12:30, all at St John's Greenhill, Harrow; Free entry with voluntary collection at the end.

Tomorrow's recital, in St John's, Greenhill, Harrow, is the final one of the summer. It will feature the London Composers Forum, who will be performing works for voice, piano, wind instruments, and cello. Everyone is welcome, entry is free with a retiring collection, and we look forward to seeing you all then.

We have had a few changes due to unforeseen circumstances: please see below for our new line-up for our Festival this summer.

We have two performances featuring Javier Montañana, violin, Hannah Lewis, cello and Neil Crossland, piano:
August 1st is a piano trio concert, and
August 22nd is a programme of sonatas for violin and piano, as well as cello and piano.
August 8th is now a solo recital by Neil Crossland.
Everything else is going ahead as originally advertised.
