Death and dying are part of life, but we are often encouraged to keep them at a distance until loss arrives.

I recently completed a course in the Principles of End of Life Care because I believe funeral celebrancy asks for more than writing and leading a ceremony. It asks me to understand something of the emotional, practical and relational landscape a family may have travelled through before we meet.

In my latest article, I share why I chose to deepen my understanding of end-of-life care, what it brings to my work as a celebrant, and why I believe talking more openly about death can help us live, love and remember with greater presence.

Dying is not a taboo, and we need to be talking about it.

KENT BRIDES 💍

Planning a wedding can be A LOT.

There is so much beauty in it, but also so much to hold: the ideas, the choices, the details, the people you love, and the feeling you want the day to carry.

So I’ve created The Ceremony Circle.

A calm, supportive space for brides-to-be to pause, reflect and reconnect with what their wedding is really about.

We’ll strip it down to its core: your ceremony, your vows, your story, your rituals, your symbols, your altar, and the deeper meaning you want to bring into the day.

Then we’ll end with time to connect, share and have tea.

This is for you if you want your wedding to feel personal, intentional and deeply connected to you and your partner.

Less noise. More meaning.

More details coming soon, but if this speaks to you, my inbox is open. 💜

A crystal blessing is a simple way to bring natural meaning and intention into a wedding ceremony. It is the act of choosing a stone with care to represent something you want to call into your marriage, whether that is grounding, devotion, or joy.

The stone sits on your ceremony table or passes through the hands of your guests, becoming a physical anchor for the promises you make on the day.

I have written two short pieces on my Substack to help you explore this. The first explains exactly how the ritual works, and the second is a quick guide to my top ten crystals for a ceremony, from rose quartz for tenderness to black tourmaline for stability.

As a celebrant with a shamanic training background, I love weaving ancestral, nature-rooted and ceremonial elements into my work, where my couples feel aligned.

One ritual people often ask me about, usually because they haven’t heard of it before, is an Ayni despacho.

Rooted in the Andean principle of reciprocity, ayni is about giving and receiving, gratitude and relationship. A despacho is a ceremonial offering, traditionally made with intention, care, and respect.

In a wedding ceremony, it can become a beautiful shared ritual. A way of honouring the earth, the people who have brought you here, and the marriage you are beginning together.

In this article, I share a little more about what an Ayni-inspired despacho is, where it draws from, and how you might choose to weave it into your wedding day.

I'm so overwhelmed with joy to be able to share this with you all...

Today feels like a big day — a moment to finally absorb the rewards of two years spent holding life cycles.

Last year, I spent a week immersed in an intensive celebrancy diploma, led by one of the most experienced celebrants at the United Kingdom Society of Celebrants. His words and wisdom guided me through a transformative week, during which I delivered three weddings and two funerals — all on my birthday.

It was a birthday gift to myself. Why?

Because I realised the most important thing I could give myself was renewal — a shift in direction, a re-commitment to the version of me that aligns most closely with the soul I live and breathe from.

Today, I step forward as a fully qualified Civil Celebrant — and it’s been worth every single moment of thought, study, and intention I’ve poured into it.

At 36, my life path has taken me in many directions. What matters most to me now is transmuting everything I’ve learned into service — into holding space for others at some of life’s biggest, most meaningful thresholds.

Whether we’re celebrating love, mourning loss, welcoming a child, or renewing vows, these moments matter. They deserve care, presence, and someone you can trust to hold them with depth and respect.

If you're looking to work with a purpose-led, heart-centred celebrant — someone who leads with compassion and carries storytelling at the heart of her practice — I'd be honoured to support you in honouring life’s most cherished moments.
