On Blackface
Let us be clear- Q***rest of the Q***r and the organisations it is composed of - The M**h Lab and The Q***r Embassy - do not tolerate racism in any form, including Blackface performance.
We will never book nor support Blackface. It is not part of putting on diverse, inclusive, accessible and representative events.
We believe that venues and performers who continue to book or perform Blackface should be called to task, as these are actions which continue to build an racist attitudes within the LGBTQ+ community.
While Q***rest of the Q***r is run by four white people, we stand as allies to the POC community, especially those within the LGBTQ+ community.
We will be guided by the POC community and work with them to highlighting and protest against venues and performers.
Blackface, not even once.
