Alexandra Vince has today launched her debut novel documenting his rise to fame as the Queen of Boudoir. In the book bearing that title, Alex charts her journey to notoriety as a pioneer in boudoir photography, where her clients experience something unique, powerful, restorative and

deeply therapeutic as they learn to love their bodies by seeing them through the eye of a camera. Alexandra has enjoyed a 21 year career in this specialist area of photography and in that time she and her team of photographers have photographed over 20,000 women. It’s fair to say that Alex has seen it all, but with that come responsibility and a professionalism that comes without compromise as her clients are literally laid bare in front of her and her camera. Body and soul exposed, there forms a unique bond between boudoir photographer and subject, and it is this that we gain an insight into in the pages of Alex’s brilliant book. 🥰 “These pictures are from my 3rd bo***ir shoot at FYEO Portraits. I have to say, every time I step in front of the camera, I feel a little more me.”

“Today I wore my favourite sparkly shoes, a crisp white shirt, and carried with me a story that isn’t always easy to tell.”

“In 2019, I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis. Since then, I’ve had four surgeries. Four times I’ve gone under the knife, four times I’ve had to piece myself back together. These scars—both the ones you can see and the ones you can’t—mark chapters of resilience that I never imagined I’d have to live through.”

“My body is different now. It looks different, it feels different. But through all the pain, the recoveries, the ups and downs, I’ve grown stronger. I’ve learned to advocate for myself in ways I never thought I could.”

“And yet… if I’m honest, the last couple of years I felt like I lost something. My spark. My mojo. That part of me that lit up rooms and laughed too loud and dreamed big. Maybe you know that feeling—the quiet slip of losing touch with yourself while you’re just trying to survive.”

“That’s why today mattered so much. This shoot was about showing up for myself.”

Feel your body resting, safe, alive.

🌿 Repeat softly:

Unlike many bo***ir studios, I’ll never ask you to lie on the floor to pose —I find that degrading and unflattering.

Instead, my bespoke bo***ir platform allows me to capture flattering angles without compromising your comfort or dignity.

The glossy surface reflects light beautifully, creating gorgeous highlights and sculpting your body with dimension.

The studio’s black walls give me full control of my studio lighting. This lets me shape, highlight, and shadow with precision—sculpting lighting that feels like fine art.

This isn’t about frills or fake smiles. It’s about capturing you at this incredible point in your life — the way your body’s changed, the connection you’re building, and yes, that little spark of confidence that comes when you’re doing something just for yourself.

You don’t need to know how to pose. I’ll guide you through everything — how to stand, where to put your hands, which angles work best for you. The lighting, the set-up, the whole flow of the shoot is designed to flatter, so you can just relax and enjoy it.

Wear what makes you feel good — that could be lingerie, a favourite shirt, or something we have here in the studio. I shoot in both classic black & white and colour, so you can decide which suits your style best.

Every session is private. No audience, no pressure. Just you, me, and the camera — creating a set of images you’ll want to keep forever.
