October is almost here, and we're heading into one of the busiest stretches of the year.

First up, Michela Giraud arrives at 21Soho this Sunday for not one but two completely sold-out shows, before The London Roots Festival gets into full swing with James McMurtry & Betty Soo at Union Chapel, Axel FlĂłvent at The Grace and Pete Murray at Dingwalls.

Later in the month, Eliza Carthy & The Restitution take over Dingwalls for a special Frenemies album launch party, followed by Graham Gouldman & Heart Full of Songs at Cadogan Hall. November brings Birdvox and Martin Harley on the same night, before Salmo hits the Electric Ballroom and Michael Weston King & Lou Dalgleish bring My Darling Clementine – Together Apart to The Water Rats in December.

There's plenty further ahead too, with Cara Dillon returning to Union Chapel for Upon A Winter's Night, Tina Dico in February, The Delines + Mark Eitzel Band at the Barbican in March, and Chuck Prophet & His Cumbia Shoes + Peter Bruntnell next April.
As ever, there's a real mix across the board – folk, roots, Americana, indie, blues, comedy and beyond.

New Show 👏 Two of Boston’s most influential and enduring voices have joined forces for a bold new project. Tanya Donelly—co-founder of Belly, Throwing Muses, and The Breeders—and Chris Brokaw, guitarist/singer for the legendary Come and longtime collaborator with Codeine, Thurston Moore, and The Lemonheads, have come together to reimagine the centuries-old form of medieval music for the modern era, live at Bush Hall, Tuesday 10 November.

Their forthcoming EP The Undone is Done Again (Fire Record) set for release in early 2026, offers a collection of modern interpretations of medieval music, built on the intimate interplay of Donelly’s luminous vocals and Brokaw’s intricate, atmospheric guitar work. The result is music that feels both ancient and immediate—haunting, beautiful, and defiantly new.

Both artists bring decades of experience shaping alternative and indie rock history. Donelly’s unmistakable voice and songwriting have inspired generations, while Brokaw’s genre-spanning guitar work has pushed boundaries in rock, folk, and experimental music. Together, they create aduo project that is at once stark and lush, rooted and forward-looking, bridging Renaissance tradition with contemporary songcraft.

Audiences can expect intimate, mesmerizing performances of the madrigals, where two artists at the height of their powers explore uncharted musical territory, and also will perform songs from their unique solo histories.
